General Videogame Thread

Completed Tears of the Kingdom after 175 hours although that includes a ton of side quests and other extras.

Objectively I think it’s probably the best game I’ve ever played especially if like me you favour gameplay, creativity and freedom. Basically the elements which separate games from any other medium.

Obviously if you prefer a heavy story, need handholding a bit and like loads of stats on a menu screen then you might not feel the same way.

I don’t think I’ve ever played another game where there are so many solutions to the problems that are presented. You really have to think about the tools you have at your disposal and come up with something that might even be totally different to what someone else might do.

The size of the world is absolutely incredible as well and there’s always somewhere to go off and explore. The views from the sky are amazing and the way you go so seamlessly from the sky islands to land and to the depths is extremely well done.

No but it's on my list. Sekiro is supposed to be good as well, I think they both came out at the same time and now my brain gets confused and merges them as 'that Japanese samurai game'!

The Witcher 3 is amazing if you like open world with fantasy, and I believe it got a ps5 upgrade recently and it's often on sale for around ten quid or less. Other than that it depends on what you're in to or just want to see the ps5s capabilities?

When I borrowed a ps5 I quite enjoyed astro's playroom or something, a platformer but it showcases the ps5s new features.

No Man's Sky may be worth a look too, with all this hype about starfield, it's been religiously updated by the devs for years and probably is the closest PlayStation owners will get to starfield.
Starfield is an RPG set in space.

No Man's Sky is a Space sim.

Horses for courses.

1 & 5 my all time favourites but the 7th in VR was a brilliant experience I shat my pants many of times lol
The original resident evil on ps was incredible. Beautiful game, genuinely scary at the time. A joy to play. I spent 60% of my monthly salary on the playstation and it felt like a bargain!

Gone back to playing MGSV on a fresh account and my goodness am having a ton of fun.

Can't wait for the MGS trilogy to be re- released cause I have an inch to platinum MGS2 (love that game) although MGS3 is my all-time favourite. MGS1 will be interesting to platinum as well :)
