Xbox vs PS argument doesn’t make much sense to me. Both very similar hardware, one has something over each other but it’s not defining. I’ve always had PlayStations so I don’t see much reason to go over to Xbox. But I don’t get into the debate over which one is better because they’re near enough the same machine with a different name.

Maybe a long shot here, but does anyone know if CDKeys are a legitimate retailer? The reason I ask is because i'm eyeing up Horizon Zero Dawn on steam, which is £40, but on CDKeys it's half the price.

Nice summary.XBOX - Smaller, nicer design. A bit more GPU/CPU power, will make the difference in a few games. Xbox Live Subs are probably slightly better good value.
PS - Has those juicy, sweet exclusives. God Of War, Spider Man, TLOU, that game that comes with it. I'd play ANY of them this afternoon very happily.

I would add the new Dualsense controller for the PS5 as well. It sounds like it's made every other controller hat. I think it probably has the better user interface as well which is in full 4k (compared to the 1080p of the Xbox) and features a better Bluray/DVD player... If anyone still uses them.
Xbox has the quick resume feature which allows you to instantly boot up about 3 or 4 games without having to go through the usual load up screens. Also the backwards compatibility is for every Xbox generation so Xbox, Xbox 360 and Xbox one (compared to the PS5 that only plays PS4 games).
They're both great machines and a big jump from the PS4 and Xbox One. I find it unfortunate that although the hardware guys have smashed it out the park for both consoles it seems a shame that the Xbox doesn't have a single blockbuster exclusive at launch. For that reason I'd go for the PS5 at this moment in time.

I currently have 8 games on quick resume and when switching between them takes about 4-5 seconds to get back in the game and your back excalty where you left off. The only game it hasn't worked on is Assassin's creed Vallha.
Also actual load times within the games are blisteringly fast. Take The Witcher 3 (which hasn't even been optimised yet) loads up in about 30 seconds compared to around 1 minute 30 seconds on PS4 and Xbox One X and when your in the game fast travel takes about 2-3 seconds

I've always bought playstation and never had an x box type console. Probably will go with ps5 but the fact that MS have bought Bethesda is making me question that. Starfield and eventually Elder Scrolls 6 would be devastating if i cant play them on ps5 and looks like thats a distinct possibility.Agree, I am looking forward to using the PS5 controller.
Unlike the 00s, I don't think we are in a situation where one console is better than the other. In fact, I think we are in a great scenario where there seems to be a strong offering for every type of gamer. Both consoles (or all 3 including series S) look superb from the reviews I've seen on IGN, Gameranx etc. I suppose it just comes down to taste in terms of which exclusives you prefer or what has the best offering through streaming services. Everybody is a winner.
For me personally, I will go for the PS5. Main reasons being that I have quite a few games (physical discs) on the PS4 and would like to continue playing these on the next gen console. I don't always get to play and mainly stick to Fifa 21 and BF most of the time so wouldn't see the value in signing up to xbox play.
That said, if I was new to gaming and had more spare time on my hands then I'd be very tempted to go for the Series X and sign up to game pass, it looks great value.
