Yeah I get what your saying. There is a lot of issues with the game, especially the bugs and graphics which urgently need to be addressed. I'm playing on a Series X so I've not seen lot of issues with that.
I think a lot of rebalancing needs to happen.
The skills tress are over complicated. I spent 40 minutes looking at all the trees trying to work out which was the best path for a netrunner/hacker
The crafting system needs changing as it's either really expensive to buy rare material and even harder to find them.
Clothes are your amour and you can't upgrade them so you just use the best stat ones and you can you look ridiculous.
The amount of weapons you get is almost at borderlands level and even though you can modify them there's no real need as you know in 5 minutes you'll get a better weapon which negates the crafting system.
Think CDPR are trying to make the ultimate action game/RPG but it's not quite there yet.
However after saying all that when it gets stuff right CDPR have absolutely nailed it.
Night City is just astounding. Just to drive or walk around in it is fantastic. It really is a living breathing City.
The writing and voice acting is suberb. It's up there with RDR2, The Witcher 3 and the Mass Effect trilogy for me. You get invested and emotionally attached to the characters and dialogue choices do matter(I'll come back to that later).
The mission structure is excellent. It feels natural and organic and while the main story is good the side missions are brilliant. No filler like say a Unisoft game or fecth quest like drive to point A kill X amount of people drive to point B collect reward. The side missions are interesting and feel unique.
I did a side mission where I had to deliver an item and I thought quick and easy gain some xp. It actually lasted about an hour,took me all round Night City and the pay off was brilliant.
Early on in the game I did a mission 3 times using different dialogue and changing the way I did the mission (hacking,talking and all guns blazing) and each time the outcome was entirely different and the dialogue was different at the end.
When The Witcher 3 was released that had issues with bugs(not as much as Cyberpunk) and performance and quality of life issues which CDPR were quick to address and sort out. I have confidence they will sort this out.
If your on last ten consoles or low to mid range pc then I would say don't buy now and wait until the major issues are sorted.
There's a lot of criticism for this game and it's entirety justified but there also a lot of hate which I feel is way over the top.
Sorry for the long post but I just wanted to give my opinion and hopefull give good advice to people on here as the haters/fanboy wars over this game online is just getting stupid.
Think I'm in the wrong job and should be doing video game reviews and podcasts like
@twosips occasionally does!!
