I think we're talking past each other. I didn't mean "the card is a solid card", I meant "the matches on the card have some angles that are built pretty decently"
And i disagree, as the Bryan/HHH match has seen a very late promotion from being plan B on the card.

Taker/Lesnar although rumored for forever had seen zero build up, Cena/Wyatt has been a random pairing ever since the constant and needless interfering and Batista getting a shot at the main event was the definition of panicking.

They could have had the Shield split long before now and have them say in a triple threat match

Even Cesaro and Swagger could have carried a better angle than the current card.

Regardless, I'm sure as it will no doubt pander to the wants of many that it will go down as one of the greatest Wrestlemania's

Bryan/HHH has been built since the Rumble which is par for course in WWE now. I actually think that this was a very well built angle that they could have easily lost their nerve over and didn't. Not sure why you think it was a Plan B.

Taker/Lesnar are coming off some real heat with each other and have lambasted each other in the press for years.

Because Punk/HHH was plan A but he's adamant on not returning.

HHH's "burying" of Bryan has certainly eased to the point when it's just Bryan showing up to shout at him.

And there's a difference in WWE creating an angle and a story line, and genuine private and personal dislike and the two are often kept apart from each other and ignored in terms of competing.

there's 3 weeks and I agree that apart from Bryan/HHH and Heyman last week the build hasn't been great, but that's the problem you have when so many of your stars are part-timers.

I also think they're suffering from a lack of talent depth caused by the under-utilisation of some superstars which means they're worried about doing anything too permanent with their assets (see The Shield, they haven't yet just gone through with it), they have no divas to speak of pretty much these days and their insistence on themed PPVs means we can't just have the MITB match that would be awesome and kick off the show.

The only plus point to this is they may end up being able to give more time to matches thus allowing the actual PPV to be better than the past few because there was too much filler on those cards.

Well, it's been built up much better than last years which was awful. I'm not particularly excited for it though and won't be watching live, Game of Thrones beats WWE every day. Wyatt/Cena is the only match I'm truly looking forward to and that's mainly because the result determines how they see Bray Wyatt's future in the company, I'm not exactly hopeful the result will be what it SHOULD be, but I'm interested.

I want to see lesnar beat the fuck out out of the undertaker but still lose. Will be funny if they can make that look legit.

it won't.

Lesnar should be going into the match undefeated since his return. He's won four out of six which is not even close to enough for people to believe he stands a chance at breaking the streak. Not to mention the issue of him getting chokeslammed through a fucking table before the feud could even begin. So yeh, there is no way he can lose (which he will, obviously) and not have his credibility hurt even more.

I don't think he cares.

It seemed to me at the time that the whole mess was cobbled together at the last minute, with the sole aim of finding a way to turn Kurt Angle into a Babyface. The fans just weren't having it and Angle was a heel again in a matter of weeks. Meanwhile loads of former WCW talent was flushed down the toilet.

Kurt Angle was best as a comedic heel, IMHO. He had this character where he didn't realise how funny he really was and you loved to hate him but not necessarily as a genuine villain. He was a clown.

Great views on the Invasion though. It never really worked.
