Fucking hell, that’s absolutely disgusting. It’s depressing waking up to new videos like this every day. To then claim “he tripped and fell”, when the whole thing is caught on camera shows that they really don’t give a fuck at the moment. Makes you wonder what sort of things are happening that aren’t being recorded too.

When the example is set by Trump’s press secretary stating that the Washington riots? Yes riots? were not peaceful and they did not use tear gas on them, then they can deny anything they like.
The camera never lies, does not apply here. Fake news. Move on.

I guess it's different strokes for different folks and their meaning behind it. Watford striker Andre Gray has a tattoo of the black panther party on his back that's a racist movement. They use the fist so it does have different meanings.

Yeah i would guess in normal circumstances then taking it all back to the station to lock it away would be the done thing. but being a sherrif it makes me think its more small town america and I've no idea what the situation is there with regards to ownership of items.

We need to get rid of this fucking virus called Trump, that has infected the minds of people with the notion that it is OK to treat other human beings as trash, or for target practice, simply because you have a badge, a pepper pellet gun, and riot gear on so you don’t get your own ass whooped!

I’m a lily white guy who lives in a predominantly lily white town outside Chicago. Today, I went into Chicago to renew my passport. It is a ghost town, with heavily boarded shop fronts, Police cruisers every few hundred feet down the middle of the major streets, and all but one bridge across the Chicago River raised to prevent foot or vehicle traffic between N and S downtown.

This “experiment” of electing a fake TV star, fake billionaire, fake patriot, and fake Christian to be a fake President of a fake democracy hasn’t worked. If we don’t discontinue the Presidential experiment in November, the “American experiment” might not make it to 2024.

If you had told me in 2008-2016 that by 2020 I would be horrified by militarized Police trampling, stomping, beating and gassing PEACEFUL PROTESTORS outside the White House, so the President could walk across the street, take out “A Bible*” to hold up and look stern for Facebook ads, I would have said you were the crazy one. Now, I feel like I want to peacefully protest in behalf of my black brothers and sisters, but am literally afraid that if I get caught up in anything and get arrested, it’ll be end of my career. I need Global Entry and security access approved by various federal agencies just to do my job, so any arrest by a federal officer would no doubt result in some trumped up charge of resisting or some such nonsense, and I’m done!

THAT is not America, that is China, or Russia...or it was before the Child in Chief decided he needed to be an autocratic President.

I’m dismayed, discouraged, and disgusted by what America looks like today. Pepper spraying children, a man with a pregnant lady in the car at a traffic stop and then repeatedly again when he steps out to confront them, pushing over old men and cracking their skulls in the ground, fondling women as you try to wrestle them into submission and dropping their peaceful friend for good measure, and using rubber bullets at almost point blank range against a man shouting that guns pointed in his direction better be on safety and opening up his arm and inner leg to the point that he is bleeding and should seek medical treatment.

Make no mistake, there are good cops out there. The problem is no-one in the public seems to know which ones are and which ones are racist pigs waiting for an excuse to damage someone with black skin. I’m pretty sure the cops themselves know, but without letting on about it, they simply look forward to tooling up and playing Street Paintball with protestors and media faces and bodies (I’ve seen both this week).

We used to say, “We are better than this!” but to be honest, I’m not sure large swaths of the American population ARE better than this, because the outrage seems to be being targeted at heavy handed policing on one side and justification crowd control on the other. The Tweet videos linked in this thread PROVE, beyond any shadow of a doubt, there is a large subset of police who are maniacal racists. The scary thing is one wonders if in some places, it isn’t the vast majority of them, especially from the safety of their body armor, 12 mags, and other riot protection paraphernalia.

Embarrassed and ashamed by what this Orange virus has brought to this country, and the messages it sends about who and what we are. All moral high ground against China has been lost in one week of “scaredy pants” policing from the HMFIC, because it’s getting hard to tell the Hong Kong crackdown from Thursday in Seattle or Atlanta or New York City or Los Angeles....

I agree wholeheartedly that this is being ramped up under Trump to the points mentioned.
But the underlying problems have been there for a long time.
Him at the helm and the fact another such police murder was so graphically caught on mobile camera, seems to have brought this to a head and you do get the feeling, not so much that this time it’s different. But, this time with his re-election at stake, the pressure won’t be allowed to drop until something positively tangible is done.

The fact he is at the helm makes that less likely and his next move is crucial in where America goes with these protests.

Pressure seems like it is starting to mount from within the various corridors of power. Certainly you would think he does not have the backing of the military, so I don’t see the prospect of him forcing a dictatorship situation.

Stay safe my friend. As I told you before, I have family in South side Chicago and I would hate this to turn ugly.

Can you provide any evidence of the Black Panther movement being racist?

I've read some material on COINTELPRO this week that's really opened my eyes to the systematic tide that black rights activists have had to fight against for decades.

This officer has set an example that others have so far failed to follow. The video of her berating her colleague for hitting a woman who was kneeling down with her hands up shows that there are those willing to stand up when it counts. Unfortunately those are extremely thin on the ground right now.

Honestly, I think officers should be severely punished for not doing what she's doing. I've seen a lot of people talking about Thomas Lane (the rookie and only officer who voiced concerns during the Floyd murder) and how he got stuck in a bad situation.

Personally, I feel bad for the difficult situation he found himself in but I think, at the end of the day, he clearly didn't do enough.

They need to be held to a higher standard.
