George Floyd murder / Derek Chauvin guilty of murder

The last words - she wasn't sleeping when she was shot. Not after the police broke in to her home with no warning. Her boyfriend fired at whoever was breaking in and hit one officer. Police "returned fire" indiscriminately and Breonna was hit five times. Her boyfriend called 911. (So the three officers fired over a dozen shots but didn't then go in to see who they'd shot at?)
This is why I asked SebastianBlue what his understanding of the facts were. This seems really important.

The narrative of killed while sleeping in her bed was roundly reported by the media. But as evidence of the autopsy and blood pattern has surfaced, no one seemed to care enough to correct the seemingly faulty narrative. The likelihood that she was sleeping when she was killed is almost zero.

Granted she was still killed by a hail of bullets and that's still an issue. But knowing the facts are so important that it bothersome that this problem persists in every facet of this case..

Yes, I am familiar with the facts of the case and I know she wasn’t actually likely sleeping when she died. I was referring to the general initial state of the incident as a summary of the horrific, indefensible (in my mind) nature of the action. I thought that was obvious given my previous involvement in the thread. I wasn’t looking to again start a detailed discussion of the exact events when posting the tweet about a potential upcoming development in the actual response to the incident. @Bigga understood it was shorthand and I assumed others in the thread would, as well.

You think? That’s white of you.

You would also think those active in the thread would understand shorthand reference to the nature of incident for purposes of moving on to another element of discussion (given the actual details had been discussed ad nauseam), but I suppose that was a bridge too far, as well.

Ah! It was short hand. I see. Good to know. May I ask where was the actual details discussed ad nauseum?

I missed it.

Also while we are at it, wheat exactly is considered wu..... Ah never mind.

I understand your desire for accuracy Dax but I would venture to suggest that this is the issue.

Unless someone else can pull it up, there's nowhere I can find to say that Mattingly was shot by Kenneth Walker and the police have NOT offered ballistic evidence to the contrary. Anywhere I look tends to cite Mattingly as shot during "gunfire" only. This is a police statement that Walker shot the officer.

This is a very important distinct to make as

A) it corroborates Walker's assertion that he fired 'into the air'

and

B) underlines the weight of the payout for Taylor's family.

As far as I know Walker has been exonerated and 'attempted murder' charges dropped (*edit- I had to search this out to underline my 'evidence')

Walker Article

He's suing the police and rightly so.

I am also someone that appreciates accuracy but it does seem the actual horrific, unconscionable nature of these types of incidents often get muddled in scrutiny of language used to describe them.

But that is a larger issue not isolated to this thread or Bluemoon, and it is more often intentional these days (as a means to obfuscate, diminish, and normalise).

Sadly correct.
