George Floyd murder / Derek Chauvin guilty of murder

Another cop suspended for killing someone who was having a mental health episode. His own brother phoned the police for help and that ended up being a death sentence. This is exactly what everyone has been arguing for. The police are called to deal with a naked man running around in the snow. You can't get any more of an obvious mental health problem than that, and yet they're shown to be completely incapable of dealing with it. If just one of those cops was replaced with someone who's actually qualified in that field, then this could have been prevented. And it's not even as if you wouldn't still need to cops there to potentially restrain the man, but the point is that the cops by themselves are often a blunt and completely unsuitable instrument for the job who in many cases get an overwhelming amount of funding compared to things like mental health intervention.

But again, not arrested on suspicion of murder or manslaughter, suspended, for a case in March that has only just come to light and as always, it turns out the police chief blatantly lied about it and tried to cover it up. The most corrupt institution in America.
Or dont put shit like PCP into your body in the first place?

Have you had to deal with somebody like this?

Drug induced mental health.

My understanding is he had been taken to a medical facility before this and left. Who failed him? Medical health? His family? The police? What about personal responsibility?

I can assure you no mental health worker would have been able to engage with him in that state.

Now what happens in someone's life to end up in that condition is another matter.

At least he wasn't shot 7 times in the back. Yay for middle-aged white guy 'compliance'.a
Yup. One of the key differences here was compliance. Perhaps the most important difference.

Even though, if admit it is unlikely they'd have shot him outside of him pulling out a gun himself.

I suppose you'd conclude that it's coz he is white. I on the other hand would conclude it was a function of a multitude of things, including the difference in their positions, their history of violence, their current charges our on them, the roles they were in during the altercation etc. And yes, it's possible their race may play a part too.

But it's seldom the most important factor at play.

Whooossshhhh!!!

This is the last video of Michael Reinoehl, the man who claimed self defence in shooting a Trump supporter that had a knife, who he felt was threatening him, his friends and others around him.
There was no knife. The guy was holding a bear spray can. Camera shots showed him and his friend walking on the Street while Reinhold was about 2 feet ahead of them. No interactions. They are unaware of him. Then Reinolds ducks into a parking lot to the side. The next clip is of the men getting to the corner and Reinolds and another man come out of the side parking lot face up to the 2 guys and shoots 2ice then ran.

It best resembles an ambush.

Michael Reinoehl was killed by police when an arrest was attempted.

What a shame. May he Rest In Peace. But a lot of what he said on this video sounded delusional. Seeing "a bunch of pickup trucks felt like the beginning of a war"? In a City that has been rioting for the better part of 90 days? It almost sounded like someone fantasizing. How does a 48 year-old sound like his 19. :(

Anytime he sees a big truck with a flag he immediately thinks they are out to get him.. why would you think that?

He says he wasn't going to stand there and let him and his friend get killed. How the guy was going to kill them he never says. And we have video footage. He wasn't standing anywhere. He came from the side faced those men and fired 2 shots and ran.

Nice of Vice to give a politicidal murderer a sympathetic airing.

I would say I feel sorry for his kids but they're almost certainly better off without him.
