And how does that benefit the people of Bradford?

He didn't say: "here's something I am going to say about political theory."

He said: "here's something that I'm going to say to cast doubt on the credibility of the other"

You understand the difference there? He's not arguing the point you want him to and people should stop assigning things to him.

He made a very specific point. A very specific point that is absolutely true. Nobody actually seems to be arguing this, they seem to be arguing things that aren't this. What he said was TRUE. Absolutely TRUE. He didn't say anything else, he just said that. And it was true.

Can never understand what is wrong with people who do this sort of stuff

No, morons who are morons continued to be morons.

I have no political allegiance to the man and don't care if he died in a fire tomorrow. The more salient point is that people don't care what he said and instead substitute what they want him to have said for the purposes of their outrage, then rely on their invention to show immorality.

But it's a fabrication. It always was.

I dunno, maybe you need to have a certain amount of nouse to realise the different between "he said this" and "he really meant this because I said so" to truly understand. I'm at a disadvantage that unlike you, I can only really judge people on what they say rather than what I think they should have said or what I think they might have said.

I know, all this conflicting opinion is hard. Don't worry! Us that get it will help you vote in the direction that you want so you don't have to consider this stuff. Talk to SWPs Back, he's on your side of the political divide and seems to understand why, he can help you work out who you want to vote for
