Met Gerard when I visited Carrington with a mate of mine, and we were allowed in because of me being foreign (Dutch). Think it was Goater who disturbed the chatty for wondering what languague we were talking. My mate immediately took his chance and got himself a picture with The Goat. Gerard is indeed a very pleasant man and close to his roots in Veendam and Groningen. As most people from that area are. Very underrated in Holland during his time at City, even after his back than televised performance -as mentioned on here before- in the derby when he took Nistelhorse to the cleaners. Lot of people find it hard nowadays to find out Wiekens played for City and teamed up with the likes of Anelka.
Hope to meet him again one day. And good luck with the book. As for the title ... "Typical" will do.
