We say it often that football is corrupt, and the top 4 are protected and sometimes we can seem paranoid. But that is so so blatent, he elbow raises as he closes in on Brown that if he doesnt get a ban for this then it is 100% corrupt. If this was a City player it would be on sky every 5 mins and would be banned, if the ref saw it or not

The questions are simple: If the ref saw it as a piece of brutal thuggery, why did he not deal with it? If he didn't see it, would he have sent him off? I have a sinking feeling that if you are one of the England shoe-ins, you get much more lenient treatment from the corruptors at the FA. If you are a fringe player, eg SWP, then you cop for the full wrath of a vindictive governing body making a show of dealing with thuggery on the pitch.

The commentator on Sunday was almost apoplectic when Barry had his contre-temp with the Sunderland guy, and was choking at getting the words out that if you raise your hands . . . . . . . .

Do you remember the Graham Poll interview on 5 Live? He said that he sent off John Terry and he was then relegated for the next four weeks to refereeing lower division games whilst under investigation.
He then knew that decisions made against high profile players were in fact career ending decisions

The ref saw the coming together of Van Pussy and Ade, as proved by the angle of the television cameras, but after the game he decided that in fact he hadn't seen it.

Haha you can see what's happened in that first gif. Brown had been fouling Gerrard all game. Gerrard goes to make a burst forward, brown notices him, goes to stand in Gerrards way to block his run and Gerrard just thinks 'fuck off I've had enough of you' and BANG. brown deserves it cos he's a total ****, but Gerrard should still be done

Thanks for posting the clips. It's the first time I have seen this. Now unless Michael Brown wouldn't let Gerrard pick the tunes for the Players Lounge after the match, then Gerrard has no defence at all..... this surely has to be a 3 match ban. It should be 4 games after all the things he has gotten away with this season.

I don't go for the ref saw it and dealt with it, therfore nothing can be done. The ref saw Ade catch Van Persie and The FA asked the ref to look at the incident again from about 20,000 angles, they have to do the same with Gerrard....... not holding my breath though!
