Salford Paul is ace, he knows his stuff & fitted my boiler for me. Great lad, dead reliable.

And no he didn't pay me to say that!! There's only one thing wrong with him....................he's from Salford not Eccles!!!!!

About as far off topic as is possible. But didn't Eccles used to be in Trafford before it got lumped in with Salford?

Surely the lesser of two evils, if so?

eccles used to be lancashire-work that one out

I'm not a geographical expert but didn't everywhere this side of the Pennines, between Derbyshire and Cumbria used to be in Lancashire?

I was right about not being an expert then.

I've only lived in Cheshire for about eight years, spread over four seperate occasions, so it's understandable I completely forgot it existed.

I usually forget things on match days, like when its time to go home a bit of forgetfulness is understandable.

Thanks BMooners. Lots of great advice. Water pressure into the house is fine so the issue is the Hot water only through the whole house. Can live with it being shite elsewhere but want a good strong shower. Looks like a pump is the way forward. Existing boiler is ok if getting on a bit (10 yrs). Some mixed messages on here about a Combi making much difference to hot water pressure....

Mine seems to have developed a problem. It has a wireless thermostat and should come on when the room falls below whatever temperature, the thermostat shows the flame indicator to show it's doing what it should, the receiver box then flashes as it should and the on light comes on, it seems the box is then not telling the boiler to switch on, hot water works fine and fuck knows how to override it and switch the boiler on manually? My Mrs' Dad is a gas man and usually sorts it out, but he's away at the minute so it's candles and cold mornings for the time being.

if your able to work safely with electrics i can talk you through getting the heating back on pal. 5 min job, pm me if you are confident with electrics and not colour blind :-)

Cheers mate, what's the worst that could happen?

just disconnect the wiring from the boiler and get the plug in timer for boiler , RF programmers are bobbins , went to a house last week that had a similar problem signal was affected by broadband . I`ll hazard a guess SALUS .

Shower pump op ,Salamander do some cracking pumps if the shower gets heavy usage look at where the hot water is stored ,and that the cold water tank is large enough to accommodate the pump and there is room enough for the pump to be sited on a solid floor or shelf , they have isolator/service valves on flexible tails . They will push the water to all outlets and increase the flow . A lot of problems I see is when the plumber uses the 22mm feed from old systems that were served by a hot water cylinder which should be reduced to 15mm to increase the flow when changing over to a cheap combi . System boiler is your requirement if you have a large enough hot and cold store with good accessible controls , and you dont mind the space it takes up , the more controls you have the more problems you get they are much the same as cars yet we service our cars more than we service our boilers and they put in some mileage ;) What make is your current boiler ?
