Wages and fee seem huge for a goalie who is being forced out
Wages are normal for a player if his stature, unless he’s expecting a big pay day.

Fee yeah on the higher side bearing in mind he has a year left. But a great opportunity to get one of the worlds very best.

About 10 days ago when they agreed Chevalier the price for Donna doing the rounds was much closer to the Trafford fee than the €50m now being reported. So expect this to get done in the £25-30m range.

I'm seeing a lot of "is Donnarumma good with his feet though".

Has everybody totally forgotten last season? We've been found out over the last 2 seasons. Peps famous playing out from the back has been sussed. Every man and his dog (even the clowns in the media) know we're probably going to have change our approach and style of play if we're going to see the evolution that will get us back competing for titles and being feared again. Which is where Ederson is being allowed to leave and we're looking at signing a different profile of not just goalkeeper but overall player (Cherki, Marmoush etc) - it's quite clear we're going to see a different game plan. Everyone needs to move on from thinking that it's absolutely essential our goalie can play like a midfielder, time has moved on and it's time for change.

He's the best shot stopper in the world.

I wouldn't say best keeper. Especially with how we play.

Either we're changing how we play or expect errors from him because his kicking is more like De Gea than Ederson and is the reason Enrique wants him gone.

“How we play” how do we know we ain’t switching it up to player long more as well as passing out from the back like PSG did! We all know football changes maybe now it’s changing again?! Let’s wait and see..

Can't express how much I don't want us to sign him.

Terrible keeper IMO (most Italians don't rate him, most PSG fans don't rate him, and the PSG management oviously don't), and would be super expensive.

Agreed, how must Trafford be feeling knowing he might not even be our number two keeper if Donarumma signs. There's no guarantees that Ederson goes or Ortega for that matter

Donnarumma only comes in when we know Ederson is leaving and Ortega is going through options now it seems as he knows hes leaving.

You must be one popular mother fucker if you know most Italian fans and most PSG fans.

Agreed, this is also terrible squad building unless we can somehow get him to agree to being the number 2

So what was the row about? Check with Enrique.
There is no row, hes out of contract next season, and didnt accept the new contract PSG offered. So PSG have now bought a replacement and want to cash in on him before he leaves for free.

Read what I wrote. I said we're either changing how we play or expect errors as he can't play out from the back the way we have been doing.

Ederson wanted to go last season had a contract on the table last season to sign has 12 months left! Sorry seems some fans just don’t know what’s going on! Maybe we going to change who we play from the back? We seen this goalie win the treble play great football! Yep goalies make mistakes all goalies makes mistakes! If you watched us last season we let a lot a goals in through transition and so many 1 on 1 in this situation you want an imposing figure they running through on like Trafford Donnarumma? We know Edersons weaknesses his shot stopping ain’t as good as the two above like The two above ain’t as good as Ederson at passing it out from the back and the long passes! Edersons a one off some going for these two as out goalies! One of the best in Europe and one of the best young goalies in Europe!

That's a lot of exclamation!!

Obviously I'm aware of Edersons contract situation. I think keeping him for his final year and then making an informed decision about what level of keeper we need next summer after a year of Trafford just makes sense. I'm not criticizing the club and obviously it may be that we are changing the way we play going forward.

Hopefully I'm wrong and Donnarumma is great for us.

I just don’t see what a lot of you see with this lad:

Serie A (215 games):
15/16: 3 errors (1 goal)
16/17: 6 errors (3 goals, 1 penalty)
17/18: 8 errors (4 goals)
18/19: 3 errors (2 goals)
19/20: 7 errors (3 goals)
20/21: 2 errors (1 goal)

Ligue 1 (104 games):
21/22: 2 errors
22/23: 5 errors (3 goals, 1 penalty)
23/24: 5 errors (1 goal, 1 penalty)

But this is a bit of a strange argument. A keeper’s performance isn’t just measured by the mistakes he makes.

Would you rather have a keeper that stops 20 more goals a season compared to the average keeper, but made 10 errors which led to 2 goals, or a keeper that stops 10 goals a season compared to the average but never makes a mistake (which doesn’t exist but let’s pretend it does for the sake of argument)?

It’s the same for Eddie, he might save us zero goals a season v the average because he is an average shot-stopper, but if he can get 4 assists and contribute to the build up for another 10 then he’s worth playing.

Some of the greatest keepers to play the game made more mistakes than an average keeper. Oliver Kahn fucked up in the World Cup final, but people tend to forget that he was a major reason Germany were in the final in the first place.

It will be interesting to see how other teams react to the change. Sides completely stopped pressing Ederson over the past couple of seasons.

Yeah we just might be changing the way we play!

“Expect errors” all players, goalies make mistakes. He won the treble making errors Ederson won all he has won making errors! Errors is part of football!
