So we probably get Trafford and loose one of Ederson or Ortega and then the other the following summer.

I assume this is too late to get Donnaruma

Assume PSG get chevalier

So who replaces the second goalie to leave ?

No. The same ball playing goalkeeper has been fundamental to his whole career and all the success he and in turn we have had. Peps not changing this late into his career, a ball playing keeper is unrelated to the “suicidal high line”, he will make changes to prevent this but the keeper regardless of all other changes will have to be comfortable with the ball at his feet and be able to play out under pressure.
! So he won’t change the habit of a lifetime as far as a keeper is concerned but he will change the habit of a lifetime as far as a high line is concerned. Hmmm. And you think the need for a keeper that can save shots is unrelated to the oppo’s ability to waltz past our high line!
There is no reason to suppose that a keeper who can make saves is automatically poor at distribution, the best have been good at both.

No you have missed my point.

Ball playing keeper essential for pep.

High line not essential. He has made various tweaks with his defensive set up over the years to how the defence play and set up, does it multiple times in one game nearly.

He has never compromised on the keeper being able to play with his feet.

You are talking about tactical tweaks while i am talking about fundamentals.

Of course the ideal scenario is amazing shot stopper and amazing with their feet. Of course pep wants his keepers to be able to make saves. If it was all about feet we would still have Bravo in goal.

My point is related to Donnaruma who no one can say is good with his feet. The odd time PSG get put under pressure and it lands back with him it ends up out for a throw. He is particularly poor at playing out with his feet which is what this thread is about. I have lost track of what your actual point is, are you saying donnaruma is good with his feet? Either way we wont be signing him so its all irrelevant.

Surprised Pep didn't fancy Ter Stegan has he's burnt his bridges at Barca.
Hes out for another 3-4 months as he is going for surgery. Also older than Ederson, barely played recently. Just dont see it in anyway possible, Pep did want him to replace Hart when he first signed by all accounts and its how we ended up with Bravo.

Possibly the worst 'keeper in the world with the ball at his feet.

Plus we're signing Trafford and Ederson appears to be staying another season.

Apart from that, sure it must be on the cards

Depends on Trafford that ,if he establishes himself this season we’ll be looking for a different keeper than if he doesn’t. No point worrying about it for at least 9 months though.

I have no comment on Donna Rummer, she is a diva. Pep won’t take her, no chance.
The high line is fundamental too. However many tweaks there are it is still a high line. You could say our titles owed a lot to Ferna and Rodri, but last year Pep persisted with it despite Rodri’s absence. Result was many more goals in the against column.
But, having said all that, the bald fraud is still the best. I can’t wait to see if he has a complete new attacking formation as we have Cherki, Ait Nouri and Reijnders now, not to mention O’Reilly vying for a midfield spot.
