Gianluigi Donnarumma | Done deal according to Romano

He must have had a tough paper round but he’s world class, no doubt. Eddie is better playing out but the boy can learn. If this is true then surprised Trafford joined, knowing he’s likely second choice.

Obviously Eddie wants out and retire to Turkey, cos that's basically what he is doing if he goes there, and Donnarumma becomes available going into his prime year's what's there to think about ?

We're not going to spend £50m on Donnarumma and £250k a week on his wages with the idea of making him fight it out with Trafford. He'll be coming in as number one and will be staying there.

It's pretty obvious that if Trafford knew this was going to happen he would have just gone to Newcastle.
I think you are underestimating the level of professionalism our club is ran at. The higher ups at City wouldn’t risk an unhappy player in the dressing room nor would they fuck over one of our own like Trafford. Pep constantly talks about the morale of the dressing room, he’d be furious.

Trafford is very ambitious and will have gone from City’s number 3 to now number 2 and city’s number 2 isn’t a bad place to be at 22 years old… this kid has repeatedly said his ambition is to be City’s number 1, he knows this is part of that journey.

Considering they have been chasing Chevalier for a long time, and gave him a contract offer on lower wages probably means that they wanted him to stay as back-up
Possibly but he was vital in their CL run.

I do think we need to redress the balance between a shot stopper and a ball player, I know Donnarumma is pretty rubbish with his feet but like PSG we should be putting 10 excellent ball players out there to correct this.

We do need a keeper that can bail us out, our shot to goal conceded ratio is rubbish and I think Donnarumma is the best shot stopper at the moment, or at least up there with Courtois.

Told my dad he was 26 earlier and he was shocked, thought he was in his 30s. Easy to forget he was AC Milan number 1 age 16 at virtually the same size he his now.

As others have said, if you get the chance to sign one of the world’s best in their position then you don’t say no. He’ll bring a fear factor in net that few others can. Miles ahead of Trafford atm. Hopefully it gets done.
Mental your dad doesn’t know his own age.

We wont be spending even close to £50m on him, they'll be lucky to get half of that and they know it.

The rumours of Trafford going to Newcastle were to fight it out with Pope for the number 1, so he wouldn't have had it easy there either, easier but not easy.

He hasn't had a good season at the top level yet, so we can't rely on that yet.

The Donnarumma signing is opportunist but changes nothing for Trafford this season, it may change the situation next season if he wants game time but that's next season's problem.
