Why didn't they sign him instead of Trafford makes no sense .
If he is definitly signing clubs will want Ederson & Ortega for peanuts .
Will Trafford want to stay knowing all of a sudden he will deffo be a no2 .
We should of been getting a rightback & gone with Ederson & Trafford .

I don't mind if he's shit (relatively) with his feet. It might stop us flapping about at the back unnecessarily.

We need a quicker tempo all round. Yes we need to have great passing outfield but it needs to be at a higher pace. Not having Ederson as an out option might be like removing a safety net and getting us to switch on more intently in defense and midfield so we get forward quicker.
Agreed. Many last season were bemoaning our slow and somewhat boring style of play. Eddie is as culpable as anyone else and I say that as someone who loves him. On the ball it’s like having a an extra ball-playing CB in possession, which is fantastic in many ways but when the whole team is obsessed with a slow, side-to-side build up, I’m not sure having a keeper who is as amazing with his feet as Eddie is, is the huge advantage it should be. As you say, having a keeper who isn’t as comfortable in possession, might not be the end of the world, if it gets us moving a bit quicker.

Read what I wrote. I said we're either changing how we play or expect errors as he can't play out from the back the way we have been doing.

Yeah we just might be changing the way we play!
O“Expect errors” all players, goalies make mistakes. He won the treble making errors Ederson won all he has won making errors! Errors is part of football!

I just don’t see what a lot of you see with this lad:

Serie A (215 games):
15/16: 3 errors (1 goal)
16/17: 6 errors (3 goals, 1 penalty)
17/18: 8 errors (4 goals)
18/19: 3 errors (2 goals)
19/20: 7 errors (3 goals)
20/21: 2 errors (1 goal)

Ligue 1 (104 games):
21/22: 2 errors
22/23: 5 errors (3 goals, 1 penalty)
23/24: 5 errors (1 goal, 1 penalty)

You got the same stats for Eddie ?

Baldy wants a small squad now at the moment we have go 4 goalkeepers & clubs will want Ederson & Ortega for peanuts .

Well Ortega was a free transfer so even if we sell him for £8-10m its all profit? Ederson has wanted out for two years now and has nil balance on our books so say £15m with 12 months left and a thank you for your service and all profit for PSR?

Must admit it does look a bit odd that we were desperate to ditch Hart at the beginning of Peps tenure because he was poor in possession.
Now apparently towards the end we are rumoured to be replacing Ederson with Donnarumma.
Great keeper though he is, from what I've seen he is no better than Hart with his feet.

Two out and two in.
Ortega wants out and Eddy looks like he wants a change.
Pep and Hugo obviously have a plan and it involves changing up the keepers.
The numbers add up to me.

And concedes from then about 4 games in 100 going off the last three years.
Which I would guess is still better than the majority of other keepers.

Donnarumma and Trafford improves our squad hugely and if we get Rodrygo and a right back in the next 2 weeks we'll of had a stellar window

Exactly, this is Pep Guardiola, Possession of the football is everything, Hart was a great keeper but not suited to his philosophy, he isn't changing that it's his core value of the game, of course you tweak and make certain adjustments but central to everything is possession of the ball, he's not changing that, it's been ingrained in him by Cruyff and lets face it he's done not too bad with it. Don't see this transfer happening but we'll have to wait and see

Okay I admit I am a bit of a FOC, but to me goalkeepers are there to stop shots at goals, not really “ be good with their distribution” and Donnnaruma is definitely a good shot stopper, maybe the best in the world. When the cream of the crop becomes available, you try and get them no question!

Ederson has been with the club a while now and will airways be rated among our top ones in that position, but let’s be honest he’s a league 1 level shot stopper. I despair at the amount of games where the opposition scores with their first effort at goal, and while the defence is also culprit, efforts on goal seem to go through Eddie like he’s made of water.

Anyway how good was Eddies distribution at Juventus first goal in CWC a couple of months ago? To me the question to sign a keeper of the class of Gigi is not remotely in doubt. SIGN HIM UP!!

I wouldn't have thought he'd think he was walking in and getting the starting place from the outset but have no idea what the club have said to him
It’ll be along the lines of ‘alright mate, err do you want to come back and play for us? Not guaranteed starter as we are losing our current keepers and signing you and Donnarumma. There’s a cracking wage in for you, plus you compete with one of the best which can only be good for you, him and us. What you thinking then kidder?’
