Gigs Thread

Not been to a gig for ages so I’ve got tickets for Josh Ritter’s show at the RNCM in October. My favourite artist of the last decade or so. Looking forward to it already.

Went to see Sparks tonight at the Bridgewater Hall.
The new album is great, but they have such a massive back catalogue to play live. And Russell is a very energetic frontman for a bloke in his 70s.
Needless to stay, Ron still doesn't move much, but he did pop out from behind his keyboard for a little jig during "Number One Song in Heaven".
I was there too and the energy Russell has infected the audience and everybody was up and dancing. Shame they never finished off with Something for the girl with everything or Beat the Clock but with hundreds to choose from it was never going to be a personal playlist.

PSB in Liverpool next.

Not of that age, from Wigan pier and donk age. But seen a film called dirt about motley crew, just booked tickets to watch them at Lytham

Off the back of it, watched the Edgar Wright "Sparks Brothers" documentary last night. Very informative and incredibly funny at times, especially the bit when Vince Clarke admits "Me, Ron & Chris Lowe are all miserable bastards".

John Grant/Richard Hawley MIF in July
Bellini’s La Sonnambula and Mozart’s Il Re Pastore at Buxton festival in July
John Cale Albert Hall in August
Dexys Bridgewater Hall in September
My Darling Clementine Stoller Hall in November
Fascinating Aida Lowry in November
