Skill is not the be all and end all. If it was purely down to skill then the keepy up champions would be great footballers

Please stop it. We get your point but don't start making out Gio was something he wasn't. You've already dismissed him as some kind of dead ball specialist who rarely scored from open play and now you're making out he was just a show pony.

He wasn't your favourite. That's fine, but he was the sole reason I didn't crack up during 1995-1998 so let's not sully the memory eh?
I wont intrude on your fantasy land again, but to rest my case, I did not say he was a dead ball specialist. I said half his 20 goals were from pens and free-kicks. If he'd scored a 100 goals, then 50 dead balls in 3 seasons would make him an expert.

He was a fantastic dribbler, but an average footballer. The history books prove it whatever you might think

If you think Gio was an average footballer, I actually feel sorry for you.

average my ass.

if he was an up and coming footballer now and not then he would be banded around as the next messi!

its just a shame he ended up being at the right place in the wrong time.

Couldn't we introduce him on the pitch before a game as a guest of the club.
Just to chant his name one more time.

Gio was and always will be one of the true City legends to me, I remember as a kid when we went to see City vs. Southampton and actually got to witness that amazing goal where he dodged all of the tackles and finished it off by scoring. There's a big blown up framed and signed photo in our living room of Gio and me. I was about 7 or 8 and was wearing the full maroon and white kit, his mate/cousin, Mikhail Kavelashvili is stood behind us signing an autograph for someone as well and I remember after they'd taken photos and signed autographs they both drove away in the same car.

I'll always remember the 3-3 against Newcastle, Kinkladze was sensational in that game. Would love to get my hands on a video of that game, or the season review if anyone knows where to get one!

Kinky is, and always will be, my footballing hero. I was at high school when he signed for us and at that age when i was still attempting to do a 'Platt against Belgium volley', along came a little footballing maestro to grace Maine Rd, and change my school footballing days forever!

No longer was it about volleys, it was about exciting runs, turning a player, sublime skill and standing-ovation performances that out-shine all others around you! Kinky was my breath of fresh air, the reason i continued to go to the matches with my dad, and probably the main catalyst in my love for the club!

I know i have the rose tinted glasses on, he could at times proved to be greedy, and at times far to intelligent for the remainder of the team, but it can definately be said he is a city legend who made the nineties bearable.

What is it with you, history and pointless stats? History shows David May has a Champions League medal so what's your fucking point caller? Oh and the keepy-uppy argument, very weak mate (and you know it) pity, I'd expect something of more substance from you as you normally talk a bit of sense.
