Girl cryogenically frozen

Even if we could read their brains in that detail there's a good possibility that plugging that many electrodes into somebody's head would cause brain damage or death.

I agree - but anyway, I think trying to read the precise state of 100 billion brain cells (and read them all at the same time btw), however you try to do it, is going to be impossible.

Depends on how spontaneous the interaction between cells in the brain is, if they're pattern based you should be able to map them mathematically which would be quite easy for the right software package. My POV would be that replacing the hormonal interaction from outside the brain would be the impossible part rather than recreating the brain itself.

Creating a model that simulates 100 billion brain cells interacting together, is going to be piss easy. (Which incidentally is why I think conscious, self-aware, computers are an inevitability). But reading the states - physical, electrical, chemical and anything else of a PERSON's own brain cells, and all of the interconnections? I agree - impossible.
