give eastlands its kippax back, straw poll.

I totally disagree in moving the away fans....leave them be....if people want to create a kippax then do so in the colin bell end...east stand or even the north stand....they simply won't because its dire and the only reason why south stand and 111/110 sing is because of the banter between us.

However thats my opinion and entitled to it.

I also don't want to move seats as my seat is perfect stood up in 111 with cracking banter.

If the coin chucking / spitting risk can be managed then I say away fans in East 3rd tier.

Away fans could have blocks of the 3rd tier starting at 309 then moving towards the north - easier to give teams wit less fans a single block of about 250 seats in 309, or about 900 in 309 plus 308, or about 1,600 in 309/8/7. Keep adding a block until you get the right number needed.
When we have to allocate for a lot of away fans like the FA Cup then the whole 3rd tier could be allocated - about 5,500 seats.

You can put in a set or two or three of gates on the 3rd tier concourse to keep the segregation there. Close whichever set you need depending on the numbers.

Whatever isn't allocated to away fans could be city card / access card sale - would mean no season tickets in east 3rd tier. Could mean it's easier to sell out against the likes of Fulham where we end up with hundreds of empties in the south now. Cost of moving and putting new gates etc could be made up in no time from the extra sales.

Fans wanting to give the banter could be in South 211/212 and giving the abuse to them up in the 3rd tier.
We'd probably get all the South being the singing stand if we did this.

The only advantage the away fans get that I can see is that they get back to the train station before us.
Our home form is impeccable..

we had a configuration of how the crowd looks on a big screen, my overall impression was we should just split the south stand just like we did at maine road, the away fans take the side/corner next to colin bell stand, they would need both levels to do it but its the worse corner for tv and we would then have a mass of blue to compete with them and our players if nothing else would know where to run to celebrate a goal.

This would be ideal imo Bill.

I'm a singer and to have a whole stand full of our fellow singers would be immense.

We don't need away fans to generate atmosphere, that is the biggest cop-out ever imo. You know aswell as me that our fans should be motivated by our boys in blue not some yonners, bindippers or swamp-dwellers in the away end!

it would be negligible.

sky put the micophone's beside the away fans it seems

No they don't.

There will probably be a different sound technician every game and there are standard places to put the microphones. It's how they mix the sound from these with other mic's up near the cameras in the East Stand. (Got a mate who does this for a living and he's always checking out how the sounds has been mixed on the bigger games, as it does vary enormously.)

The away fans have to go into that section of the ground because of the coach park so it limits the possible places they can go...

I'd prefer them to be given the 3rd tier entrances 308 to 310 which would leave better seats for Blues. They could extend this into 307 fr cup games etc) The singing section could then be anywhere in the South stand but it would no doubt gravitate to the sections near the away fans as that always has an influence, and I for one would be looking to get a seat in the 2nd tier there.

The away fans would still be near the "kippax" but it gets more blues in the 1st and 2nd tiers and out of the quiet 3rd tier.

I moved my season ticket to be next to the away fans do not move them.

i'm totally with you

If the away fans were just moved to 111, you could stil sit next to them, but the south stand would have more of an end and could generate more noise

Yes, move the away fans here or to the half of the South stand that City fans are currently in.

It isn't about moving the away fans, it's about getting our singers together.

move the away fans to 111 and leaves people like me possibly having to move to a morgue part of the stadium...not happening...id despise to be anywhere else but south or east 110

anyway regarding the atmosphere....picture the atmosphere against hamburg.....so if were going to be near the top of the league then the atmosphere will follow e.g Arsenal at home....we've only played 3 home games with all our new players...west ham on a night game-hardly a time to soak up the beer and Wolves at home wasn't going to be the best.Guaranteed the atmosphere will come if we keep winning and our fighting top end of the table.
