we had our 'own' end at blackburn on the weekend and it sounded brilliant. And i don't think the away fans at the other end of anfield detracts from the kop at all!

Dont mean to stray off, but the Kop Is shite, except 5 mins before game, and 5 mins till end.

your opinion fair enough, but what do we have? So far the argument not to have our own end is that we need the away fans so we can have banter. we can still give it to them when they down the other end of the stadium.......and if we a goal down with 5 mins left against the rags who gives a fcuk about banter we should be spurring the team on!!

If it was up to me...

Keep the South Stand as it is. A lot of people there want to be there to wind up the away fans, and moving the away fans will just make our fans move somewhere else.

Relocate the family stand to a few blocks in the Colin Bell 3rd tier.

The North Stand advertised to hold all the City fans who want to get behind the team on match days.

I say this as I sit in the North/Colin Bell second tier and I see others near me who want to sing - but feel like they can't because it isn't the right area. I think there would be plenty more people like myself who sit around the ground who want to stand and sing for 90 minutes, but don't because they sit in an area within the ground which makes them feel un easy about it. (I have my reasons for sitting where I do though *cougcheapcough*)

I've stated this before, and I'll say it again, it would only take about 50 people to start off in the area before more people from around the ground would relocate there.

Only problem (IMO) with this, is that this should of been done 3 years ago when crowds were down. Now the ground is getting closer to being full with STs so it's harder to relocate people.

My thoughts from the previous thread after Celtic.

We've got three ends which could be our own end, the only reason the south stand and singing section are any good is down to the away fans. I really don't understand why people think moving the away fans will suddenly create this fantastic atmosphere trap, it wont, all you'll end up with is people like me who enjoy the banter and choose to sit near the away fans, bored to death and an even worse atmposphere.

Trust me on this, it is a wank idea, if you want this one end get the club to sort it for you all to relocate to the north stand, see how many of the south stand and singing section want to actually move from the away fans to sit there, even if everyone did move I can guarantee after the third rendition of bluemoon and nobody to banter with, everyone will be bored.

This is of course only my opinion, and I am definitely against the idea.

I feel exactly the same way. I am trying to figure out if I have missed something obvious here.

It wouldn't mate. The 50 people would just get stared at like they were aliens or told to sit down. It would take closer to a 1000 IMO.

I think the away fans are in far too prominent a position right now, they should be shifted. Away fans don't create the atmosphere, City fans and players do (or at elast should). It doesn't quite work rite now because the people who want to sing (111 area and 117) are split up. Any song started by either isn't carried on by the other section because they can't hear them (cos of the away fans in the middle) or are totally out of sync. If the away fans were moved to the corner around the 111 section and the 111ers were integrated with the south stand we'd have one solid end to get things going and those that want to stand next to the away fans and give the wanker sign to them all game could still do that

What exactly is the suggestion here? To swap the away fans (112,113,114) with the South/West corner (118,119,120). Which in turn would mean then moving the singing ticket holders of 109,110,111 with the original (non singing) 118,119,120. So in effect the original 118,119,120 would move to 109,110,111; the original 109,110,111 would move to 112,113,114 and the original 115,116,117 would stay where they are.
I think a steward should remove a seat everytime a rendition of 'Bluemoon' stops. Last person with a seat gets a signed home shirt.

That is a quality post, pmsl.

I have read it 5 times, still cant get my head round, but really liked it!

If the numbers matched up, I would put the away fans in 119, 121, 220 & 219. This would give us the majority of the South Stand, join up the singing sections and keep the bastards off the telly. The away fans would also be close enough for the 'banter' and still handy for the coach park.

Exactly the same for me. I'm surrounded by moaners and non-singers, you get the death stare if you're stood up.
