thats more to do with ahaving us all in one end though, you cant compare our north "family stand" to the away end a Blackburn I for one like the fact i can take my son in the family stand without having to deal with the people like the previous poster, who go in the south stand to throw abuse at the away fans. That seems to be the main reason most are in their, i gave up my seat their to move to a quieter part of the ground so my lad could ome with me. Im happy their is a less intense part of the ground for that reason

That is completely understandable, It was a tad unfair comparing the North stand to Blackburn away. But, being able to stand, sing and even get a song going in the north stand is like trying to get blood from a stone, I don't want a riot like atmosphere, I want an electric one, and we aren't going to get that with only one seperated stand (as it is at the moment) working towards it.

Which is why I'm all for the origional idea of a new Kippax. One stand of supporters singing is better than 2 seperate groups belting out different songs.

Im not having a go i agree with what you are saying, and i do like the idea of a full end behind the south stand. My kid wont be 7 forever, once he is old enough im back off the other end. I was just explaining my personal reasons, so others would get an understanding of why it is a little quiet in that end, but we manged it for uefa cup last year so we can do it again.

If the numbers matched up, I would put the away fans in 119, 121, 220 & 219. This would give us the majority of the South Stand, join up the singing sections and keep the bastards off the telly. The away fans would also be close enough for the 'banter' and still handy for the coach park.

That's exactly what I'm proposing.

When was the Kippax ever behind the goal?

the main thing that needs to happen is for people to sing and stop moaning at games, this aint something the club can just buy, we need to do something about it, no other parts of the ground ever join in with the south stand and SS and this is the battle that needs to be won

Move the away fans in the South stand accross one block towards the East stand, both lower and upper tiers. Those supporters affected in the Blocks in the corner in the home section could then be relocated to the blocks vacated by the away fans, thus created a much larger home singing section. The away fans would then be in the corner with easy access to their coaches. There might have to be a little work done in the bar areas to seperate the home and away fans. This is for me the easiest solution, the away fans would only occupy one block in the South stand, the rest would be in the corner.

Well after seeing that view of the stadium, you might have to move them accross two blocks. Basically What I am saying is stick the away fans in the corner, between the East stand and the South stand.

The atmosphere would improve ten fold if we where all together - songs would spread quicker and it would be more enjoyable than sitting at that morque at the moment - as for people saying south stand and the singing section are only loud because of the away fans -thats just a load of rubbish, the away fans for me should be third tier like saint james park and the coach park could be on the gravel where the doves concert was.

could we not turn the north stand into eastland's kippax, but i totally agree with the idea, we need our supporters who sing to be together, we are known for having some of the best support in the country, lets keep it that way, maybe think of a really good name for the stand as well, and then put the name on the seats, permitting that the council allow this, to really make eastlands our home, maybe something simple like 'the proelia' or something, anyway im getting ahead of my self, but please City GIVE EASTLANDS ITS KIPPAX.
Great idea, we can all swap Pokemon with our Nintendo DS's enabled WiFi!

I got a level 58 pikachu if anyone wants to trade........

I understand the idea and can see it's merits but to put a spanner in the works people are creatures of habit they have their block and their seat and may not move. True the club potentially moving the away fans may force a few blocks.

i dont think we have nothing to lose in moving the away fans if anything making a kippax will make it a much better atmosphere which is what eastlands is missing at the moment..KIPPAX ALLDAY FOR ME!! X

Why give the AWAY fans the best seats in the ground?

Some people either didnt go to Maine Road or have a very blinkered and selective memory of the games there, many times it was like a morgue (Easer Monday second last match and the mackems signing "3 nil and you still wont sing" bring back any memories).

When we left MR, those that had ST's in the Kippax (SIDE) moved to a similar seat in the East Stand, those with ST's in the North Stand moved to a similar seat in the South stand, The olin Bell is the old Main Stand and the North Stand is the old Platt Lane.
When the City fans are "up for it" COMS rocks, or when something happens on the pitch it atmosphere is as good a anything I remember from MR (First 4-1 was every bit as good as last 3-1), one of the few other games in the last 6 years or so at MR that had a superb atmosphere was the Millwar game where they had 0 fans, so that arguement imho doesnt stack up.
