I've stated this before, and I'll say it again, it would only take about 50 people to start off in the area before more people from around the ground would relocate there.

It wouldn't mate. The 50 people would just get stared at like they were aliens or told to sit down. It would take closer to a 1000 IMO.

I think the away fans are in far too prominent a position right now, they should be shifted. Away fans don't create the atmosphere, City fans and players do (or at elast should). It doesn't quite work rite now because the people who want to sing (111 area and 117) are split up. Any song started by either isn't carried on by the other section because they can't hear them (cos of the away fans in the middle) or are totally out of sync. If the away fans were moved to the corner around the 111 section and the 111ers were integrated with the south stand we'd have one solid end to get things going and those that want to stand next to the away fans and give the wanker sign to them all game could still do that

Thats the bit many posters dont seem to be grasping from what i can see.

Its not going to stop the home/away banter, it will just move over to the corner of the SS. Not being an ST i sit in many different spots and its definately a disjointed sound on many occasions with one emd singing two songs. Getting all the SS singing crowd together has to be a positive.

Plus, i f*ckin hate having away supporters behind our goalie intimidating him at every opportunity. They are supposed to be playing away and having our keeper to bawl at gives them an advantage that we should not be allowing them. Get em to the side away from the might Shay.

I say this as I sit in the North/Colin Bell second tier and I see others near me who want to sing - but feel like they can't because it isn't the right area. I think there would be plenty more people like myself who sit around the ground who want to stand and sing for 90 minutes, but don't because they sit in an area within the ground which makes them feel un easy about it.

Exactly the same for me. I'm surrounded by moaners and non-singers, you get the death stare if you're stood up.

I only moved their because i started taking my lad, most are alright. Although some moan just tell em where to go, i do. Although if you want to get pissed ballon, and thats the only time ive noticed people getting pissed off, go somewhere else. I like it in their its a good place to watch the game and know your kids dont have to deal with any idiots, if that makes it quieter then people have to deal with it.

But im all for the south stand being all home support, as an ex south stander its was shit when we would start a song then the dumbass singing section would start another. get everyone in the same end, makes a better atmos all round

i want the away fans right next to us cos half the fun is giving them shit all game

Suggest then you go somewhere else, you may not have noticed but something special is happening at City and your efforts should be concentrated on our team and not baiting other teams fans

I'm not a big drinker to be honest, the atmos at Blackburn was amazing, and if you compare that to what it's like in the North stand, well you can't really.

Im assuming you mis-spelt part of that post, but only the bits in bold!

I havent read the full thread but if people are saying the away fans get too much coverage from the camera's why not put a gantry above the east stand and move the cameras there? Also I have a ST in 119 and im not sure I would want to move and we do sing.

thats more to do with ahaving us all in one end though, you cant compare our north "family stand" to the away end a Blackburn I for one like the fact i can take my son in the family stand without having to deal with the people like the previous poster, who go in the south stand to throw abuse at the away fans. That seems to be the main reason most are in their, i gave up my seat their to move to a quieter part of the ground so my lad could ome with me. Im happy their is a less intense part of the ground for that reason

I'd guess that most people supporting this do not sit in the south stand or singing section, where people seem happy with the way things are. Why should we be disrupted and moved becuase some bright spark thinks the atmosphere will improve, with no actual proof or evidence that this will be the case. Probably most people getting behind this are not currently part of the action and want a way of getting in, I suggest as per my previous post it is you lot that move somewhere together to create your own end and leave us chaps to it. I'm all for improving other parts of the ground but not at the detriment of the only decent bit we have.

That is completely understandable, It was a tad unfair comparing the North stand to Blackburn away. But, being able to stand, sing and even get a song going in the north stand is like trying to get blood from a stone, I don't want a riot like atmosphere, I want an electric one, and we aren't going to get that with only one seperated stand (as it is at the moment) working towards it.

Which is why I'm all for the origional idea of a new Kippax. One stand of supporters singing is better than 2 seperate groups belting out different songs.

Edit:ChesterrdBlue incase you haven't noticed, there are only so many seats in the South Stand. Not everyone is going to fit in there, just like not everyone would fit in the "New Kippax" but atleast it's an attempt to get the entire ground involved. You're attitude is basically "Fuck you, we're ok, the rest of you, fend for yourselves". Nice.

I think its wrong to suggest we would make as much atmosphere as the Celtic fans did in the south stand because this wouldnt happen. The Celts are a very vocal lot anyway and it was a one off carnival for them.
I do like the what your trying to do but imo you would get more platt lane than kippax, the only way to get round this is to bring back standing and i dont think they can do this now.
i apologise for sounding so downbeat, but id leave it as it is.
