C'mon guys, we ned to decide where to meet. We have 2 suggestions, 1 being Ashton Lane and the other being Paisley Road.

Im all for Ashton Lane, only cos im a snob in a poor man's body, and i want to go to Vodka Wodka again for their different flavours of Schnapps, but i'll go with the majority.[/quote

I'm with you Ricster, Ashton Lane is the best place to drink in Glasgow (maybe the Merchant city) in the summer. It has a cosmopolitan feel about it. Not sure if the West end is ready for an invasion from Mancunia but its a cool place and there will be no mither. We can stand outside drinking in the cobbled street and the tube station to Ibrox is seconds away. The Rangers fans at work are getting excited about it and have taken an interest in who we are buying as it was reported in the press up here we will take our full strength team. Hope the weather is better than last year when it pissed it down all day. By the way that was a great post Tolmie, loads of good advice and by the way my gaff is full to the rafters also lol.

Nice 1, an Ashton Lane knees up it is then. My gran stays in Knightswood, and i used to have a gf who stayed at Murano St, so know the west end very well. Also, cos of the time of the year most of the students will be away, which means we'll have "the lane" to ourselves.

Also, i want 1 of those Chocolate cocktails in Vodka Wodka too. They are to die for!

just spoke to rangers fan i know, glasgow green on east side of city, near celtic park, so not suitable for meet up,so stick to pubs on paisley rd west, 10-15 pubs from city centre to the ground , great pubcrawl

I'd rather stay away from the Rangers fans down Paisley Rd. Doesn't take much to irritate them, and they will be looking for trouble as they did, or a small minority, in Manchester.

There won't be any trouble drinking in the Rangers pubs on Paisley Road West. The only bother that there has been with English/Foreign supporters in recent years was when the Rags visited for the Champions League, they were soon sorted out. City fans will be made most welcome in the City.

For Paisley Road you can start from Bridge Street Underground Station and visit the following Rangers bars on route - Glaswegian, Binghams, The Local, Lord Nelson, Quayside, The Angel, Viceroy, Bellrock, Grapes, The District , Louden, Kensington.

There are another few bars on route which aren't Rangers bars.

At Ibrox Underground avoid the Stadium Bar at all costs. Hellish place which 'recycles ' the beer.

At Govan Underground, avoid all the bars, that area makes Mosside look like Bramhall.

Lastly, you will be made more than welcome in our pub, Binghams. www.binghamsbar.piczo.com

Looking forward to City coming to Ibrox, enjoy your trip.

The only thing is, is that it mean we'll be strung out over alot of pubs, where as at Ashton Lane its all compact a bit like Shambles square in Manchester. Its upto the majority though. I'll go with the flow.

I know what you mean mate, Ashton Lane is a really nice place for a bevvy though a bit pretentious. Merchant City is also compact and good for a few beers, especially the Candelriggs and it's only a 5 minute walk to Buchanan St or St Enoch Underground stations.

Is that down by Pancho Villa's? If so, i know where you mean, but still prefer Ashton. You'd think i had shares in the place, lol

i was gutted that i had to miss celtic last year because i was on holiday but hopefully i can get to this one

for anyone going straight to the ground and maybe not staying over but fancy a beer / scran there are 2 really good clubs and a hotel which are welcoming to away fans - Rolls Royce club,Swallow hotel and Neptune Lodge - all just at back of main stand

But be prepared to be woken during the night by gunfire and petty bombs, lol.
