Glass Tunnel now taking shape

Oh for modern football to have this as part of it and not all this corporate bullshit

Whats the point in expanding to over 80k when we cant always fill what we have? Give me 45000 full every game and Ill be happy. Sick of seeing empty seats at every match.
I go to games, I pay for a ticket. If we sell out EVERY game ticket prices go up. If we don't sell out except for the huge games they will most likely go down. I'd rather have the capacity to match demand for the huge games so every City fan can watch it.

I don't get this stupid paranoia around empty seats. 54k with 1k empty seats is better than a 45k sell out.

people overlook that fact mate as Mansour should be letting everyone in for free by the sounds of it!
With the new deal Premier League clubs got, if all the clubs gave all of their SeasonCards away for free they'd all still be making more money than they were from the previous deal.

As usual lets blame the fans, well done buddy.

No one I have spoken to in 126 wants cheap seats.

not at all squirty mate as without any of the fans over the years the club wouldn't be here and the shifting around of longstanding ticket holders at short notice is not fair either! just maybe the club should have more communication with you guys about the plans, even maybe upgrade your seat if possible in the short term to help? maybe though this new hospitality drive is so the north stand expansion can take place and make standard prices even cheaper to fill the ground constantly? communication should be a lot better and didn't mean any offence mate to you or any other city fan!

No worries mate.
It is all about the poor communication
We got a letter beginning of August to tell us it was happening, followed by a phone call to say the back row was being removed three days before a game.
On top of that several have written in to the club and got no reply.
No one minds the expansion, you have to move with the times, and if I hadn't packed in work I may even have bought a seat there, but its the the total lack of communication and reassurances for the fans affected by it that pisses me off.
A little consideration and communication costs nothing.

Not sure about this whole glass tunnel thing. It always puts me in mind of a glass coffee table or pyrex bowl and all the associated pervy possibilities.

There would still be empty seats whatever the capacity

Aren't they building another 6,000 'cheap' seats?

Two thoughts on this one for me. They're presently in the Colin Bell Stand because they can afford it so cheap seats aren't required. Are they developing the family stand for a third tier? I hadn't heard. Also, a nice "experience" from the 1st tier alongside the pitch isn't replicated by Row JJ behind the goal in the third tier.

I'm not talking about those being moved, what City have done their is shit.

It was your wider point on the gentrification of the Etihad when we are going to have more low cost seating than before.

Apologies. I was reading on my phone and eating rice crispies in the work canteen. I can't multitask nor wrap presents.

Are we definitely extending the last remaining two tiered stand? I'd heard rumours about it but nothing concrete. I'd lean towards more Blues buying for the first time as nothing but a good thing. It's still a bit of a cut and paste extension, though. I don't think it looks tidy enough.

I've heard from the 2nd Jan players will enter/exit pitch via the access tunnel to allow the renovations to properly kick in and this will remain in place for remainder of season. Anyone else heard this?

Yet another example of the club veering towards the fans with the deepest pockets than the deepest loyalty.

This sort of thing may look nice, but it's quite simply not what going to football matches is supposed to be about (but sadly is).

If somebody gave me the money for this or 93:20 I still wouldn't go there...

But if somebody else is willing i don't get why you've a problem with it?

If some daft sod wants to sit here just to say he saw the players in the total so be it, i can understand people being upset as they've been moved but for the rest of us i couldn't give a shit.

The more revenue the better.
