I dunno how many times this needs to be said, but the headliners...and the main stages are about 10% of whats actually happening at Glastonbury. Yes its what you see on TV....but i think ive only see 3 or 4 headliners from the six times ive been there

Everybody seems to say the same thing which leads me to ask why they bother having these kind of acts play at the gig?
Surely nobody there wants to see these bands or this kind of music.

I think thats the wrong way to look at it....there are clearly thousands of people who want to see those acts....but at the same time there are thousands more who would rather be elsewhere at the festival.

The people who complain about the state of the headliners (usually people who dont go and/or have never been) should really experience the stuff you dont see on TV.

Not everyones cup of tea, but when Foo Fighters were headlining in 2017...i was in the pit at The Truth stage watching the Dead Kennedys....when Ed Sheeran was doing his thing we were banging it out to Groove Armada at Arcadia...

This is (was) arcadia...

Went five times in a row in the noughties and that is absolutely correct. It’s actually part of the reason I stopped going though! Much prefer the smaller festivals nowadays.

First time for me was '81 when, as Billy Bragg said the other day, Glastonbury was an escape from the shit that was going on in the country at the time. Apart from those of us that went, very few other people had heard of Glastonbury or the festival. It really was an alternative underground thing.

I get all that mate. I just can’t see anyone that goes to a festival like this would want to see Diana Ros. Paul McCartney, Kenny Rogers etc.
Give Their spots to squid, yard act, Fontaine’s etc.. (my personal taste obvs..) : )

I did it in 2007 and 2008. 2007, some very good bands, but shit crowd and the whole vibe. 2008 was complete crap, hated everything about that over-hyped bullshit.....Kings of Leon, The Verve, and Jay fucking Z!!!!

Slagging off The Verve is pretty dumb tbh.

They are one of Britains most revered and influential psychadelic rock/indie bands. There first 3 studio albums are all widely regarded as masterpieces.

Yves Tumor will be on the West Holts stage on Saturday afternoon, his guitarist/producer is a guy called Chris Greatti who is fucking unreal, incredible - in-cred-ible.

The Sunday afternoon legends slots are quite good…for example I’d never go to a Dolly Parton show…but I did at glasto….those bands you mention are all on the likes of the John Peel stage…. Much more suited to their size

The beauty is there’s room for all and every one of these bands and artists…I don’t think I’d want to see Squid on the pyramid stage…but seeing them on the John peel stage or williams green or the park stage would be fuckin mega

Few of my pals are there now and I've been 3 or 4 times. Genuinely is the most magical place. I remember describing it as 5 days of watching City score last minute away winning goals.

Anyone who has doubts, just go and experience it
