I think I'm in my 6th year of keto, which I spend around 90% of the year doing.
It goes out the window when we go on holiday or national holiday breaks like Christmas and Easter though.
For me I find the majority of carbs unappealing now, especially beige, and sugar is nasty. I feel like crap when I eat them.
I do like a beer though which can be a downfall sometimes and I did consume too much last year, so back to being disciplined again now.
In the first year I lost nearly 5 stone just through cutting out the carbs/sugar with minimal exercise. Keto also makes fasting much easier. Sometimes when you're busy you forget to eat and the hunger pangs are much less severe and easier to move on past.
Nowadays I'm just a regular, healthy size and my body functions well. Add the carbs and sugar back in and I start to malfunction. It's not nice. There's a clear difference both mentally and physically.
I've never had covid as far as I'm aware and I've not had a day off work ill for 6 years either, whereas before, I'd be carrying coughs and colds and skin issues throughout the year. They've all fucked off now. So not only has keto transformed me, it's made my immune system bulletproof.
There's a lot of money to be made from shit diets and I definitely view the world differently nowadays in this aspect.
There's also mass confusion with what's right and wrong. Reading comments on social media posts has shown me how fucked up it is, nevermind witnessing people in real life pushing crap into their faces. Some people literally don't have a fuckin clue about nutrition whatsoever and are completely ruled by their tastebuds, and the marketing for the crap are all over this.
