seems like its forgotten to warm the uk, the snow is causing havock to the great game , is it time england had a mid winter break, the fixture congestion will run over into next season at this rate, what do you think?

You can't predict when the worst of the Winter weather will fall in UK. Continent is more predictable as it is part of a large land mass, and colder in the depths of mid-winter

With big squads, clubs can deal with the demands on players. Pitches are far better than they were

Mid-Winter brake wouldnt help we always get games called off in febuary anyway!!!

This basically is a brake, without the 4 games over xmas the league would be even more fucked.

Spain, Italy, Germany only have 1 cup competion run through the season the other one is the equivalent of our charity shield and played at start of season, plus champs league and euro cup, would have to extend the season to august with a mid-winter brake!!!

Its all bollocks, the earth warms and cools in cycles, now all of a sudden, government scientists (which i expect are paid to say this) think the earth is warming up.

But look back in time, we had the ice age, then this place warmed, its only inevitable that the climate changes, nothing stays the same.

Saying that, i know nothing about the weather, the earth or science in any way shape or form.

I've been reading up on this on the web:

Apparently unusually hot summers prove there is global warming.
And unusually cold winters also prove global warming.
Hot weather is the same as the climate and demonstrates it's changing.

If you look at an atlas and see the other countries on the same latitude as the UK they all have a much more severe winter than we traditionally have had.
the reason for this is the north atlantic drift or as others call it the gulf stream, however as the ice caps melt it cools the waters of the atlantic changing the flow of the north atlantic drift, meaning that our temperat winters will be no more and we have to get used to more severe weather in future.

dont get me wrong im not really for a break, i have turned out in far worce conditions, and prefer skiing to sunbathing, i was there during the BALLET ON ICE city v spuds , when we played like world beaters, im sure we all went home with a smile and a warm glow( RADIATION OT READY BREAK NOT SURE WHICH) .
last weeks old firm went ahead despite the cold, and fears for crowd safty. but when it comes to it , folk wont turn out too often if its too cold, are people getting softer? or are the health and safty freakes running the planet?
