Great pics. Top marks to the OP. More please. I think the pic of the rags packed in on the Kippax/Platt Lane corner is a poignant reminder of how it used to be given the Hillsborough Anniversary this weekend. That's how fans were treated then. H&S not heard of. Hillsborough could have happened to any set of fans. By the grace of god,and the fact we had an inept team at the time,it could have been Blues there that day.

On a lighter note. The girl with the Princess Di haircut was defo a rag. Her cagoule wasn't bona fide adidas. Just an imitation market special. No self respecting Blue would have worn that!

The terraces were so packed then that if you were caught short, being able to piss in a sink would have been beyond your wildest dreams.

Remember the lad with a dart in his head but wasn't that at the Swamp around 76? Darts used to be the rags weapon of choice.

Sharpened coins as well at that time, like shurikens, I saw a lad get a nasty cut on his cheek with one of them.

The football going football crowd today don't know anything by comparison.

I've been threaten with a knife twice watching football, once away watching England against Italy in 1980, and once in the first match at Goodison in 1981 in the quarter finals when we drew 2-2 and Paul Power lobbed the goalkeeper.

I'm still here to tell the tale though. I still hate Liverpool though as a City, I absolutely loath the place!!

I still get the goose bumps thinking about walking through the kippax tunnels.

I miss that massively. That was and always will be the ONLY ground entrance.

"but hard times mixed with good times are what Citys all about"
BRILLIANT thanks for putting that up

Fantastic pictures! Well done for posting them on here, I was at the game too, on the Kippax, just a couple of weeks away from being 16 years old. Can remember it was always bedlam in and around the ground, back in the days when we used to get 10k + tickets for theirs, as they did for ours, although they always seemed to infiltrate our home sections, until they either got turfed or kicked out. Just how it was, thanks for the memories, would love an email copy of them if you have them available (for personal use only).
