Above anything it shows just how much the Muslim community is vigilant and supporting the police despite what the EDL wants us all to believe.

So does the fact that two people have been arrested preclude the possibility that there may be one ,tens, hundreds or even thousands of undiscovered people out there still plotting acts of terrorism?

This problem is getting worse not better and I feel we need to be much more vigilant and sceptical about certain communities.

and despite what anyone says Longsight is a problem area.

Longsight has a very ethnically diverse population(polite way of saying it's a Ghetto).

Maybe in your head

According to the 2011 UK census, 72.9% of the population is from non-white ethnic groups.

Believe it or not, English Christians come in all colours.

Yeah yeah yeah.
The huge overwhelming majority of English Christians in this country are white.
Your point if you had one is point-less.

Using the EDL or just calling some say a racist to discredit an argument is what the board should be above.

The point regarding the Muslim community and the Paedophile ring is a valid one There was a large group of people involved and probably even larger group who were aware of the groups actions and did nothing. It would be almost impossible to keep a group action like that a secret.

Stuart hall was an individual acting on his own and in private so the comparison is weak at best.

If labling a whole community or religion by the level of its worst isn't prejudiced or stereotyping I don't know what is! Whilst Stuart hall you may be right was on his own it is quite clear that was not true of the abuse and exploitation in either of our main churches or at the BBC or if allegations are true in parliament .

It was a not subtle overtly prejudiced comment against a whole community nothing more nothing less!

As for the EDL comment it is very apt one of their main propaganda tools is picking up the worst elements of an immigrant or religious community and then to try and paint it as widespread to create fear so I cannot think of a more relevant comment.

But such comments are almost daily in the cellar which is becoming a very comfortable place for anti immigrant, anti Muslim sentiment

From what I can see, no-one is tarring the whole Muslim community on this thread - it's just being pointed out that there will be some people within that community who will be covering up for the dubious actions of others, just like some people within the Catholic church covered up for the disgraceful acts of paedophile priests and some people within the BBC covered up for Savile.

There's nothing racist about pointing this out.

The comment from W12 was quite clearly squarely aimed and its implication was crystal clear to anyone . I would be calling out anyone who said that everyone at the bbc was complicit too.

This place is right wing fair enough but this is becoming a board where you cannot have a thread without thinly veiled anti Islamic sentiment and broad brush falsehoods being allowed to be thrown about . Some pretty stupid nonsense against some other nations and religions as well on other threads

If I were a Moslem poster I would feel exceedingly uncomfortable and as a fan of a club owned by an Arab with a number of our best players Muslims it is offensive at times

You can see why the people in charge allowed this to go on as long as it did <And is probably continuing to go on right now> quite simply because some people have their heads in the sand because it doesn't directly affect them.
Oh and they could lose their jobs for being called a racist or bigot etc..

Not as offensive as muslim grooming gangs raping children.

I'm still more concerned about being nudged into a canal than Islamic ray guns.

Statistically I think you have more chance of being drowned on canal street than having your head chopped off in Longsight waiting for the 192.

from the same 2011 census
The largest religious group is Muslim with 53.8% of the population
you may also want to consider that the census always underestimates Immigrant communities as it is accepted they do not register to the same % as the indigenous population

So by the time you consider all other Religions English Christians, regardless of colour, in Longsight are a massive minority

But hey never let the facts get in the way of a good argument

Is our owner a member of a Pakistani rape gang?
I don't see any anti-muslim rhetoric on here that is offensive, but I do see posters taking offence when there is none to be taken. It's a silencing tactic and it doesn't work.

Do you refer to Christian grooming gangs raping children, which lets be honest has been far more prevalent in the UK for hundreds of years? it was also at times far more institutionalised . No because you don't hold all Christians or all child home workers or any group like that as a whole responsible!

Research shows me where the greatest extent of child grooming has been proven over the past twenty years in this country. Facts are facts and being called a bigot or a racist doesn't change that.
