Going to watch other clubs play

I follow Rotherham United too.

I go there sometimes. There's something I really like about them which I find hard to put into words. Enjoyed occasional games at Millmoor and now at the swish New York Stadium.

Other than that I go to Derby 4 or 5 times a season with our son who supports them.

Used to watch both Sheffield clubs sometimes when I lived there and it was more affordable - Waddle, Hirst, Sheridan at Wednesday; Deane and Agana at Brama'Lane.

Wherever I’ve lived I’ve always gone to watch local clubs play. I’ve had season tickets in Madrid, Leipzig, Dresden, Innsbruck. I always make a point of watching local amateur teams as well tho.

I live in West London now , I went to Brentford once , just after Ewe had left them , also went to Southend v Notts Forrest years ago , in July I’m going to watch a friendly QPR v Wimbledon with some mad QPR fans , I couldn’t bring myself to visit any other Prem teams though ,
I’ll probably go to Brentford’s Ground but to watch London Irish RU
Preferably when they play Sale

I've got a friend who made it to every Scottish league club this season. 42 grounds and 77 games in total. I don't know you'd subject yourself to that, but he did. Even managed a few English games too.

The only teams I've watched for a while are KL City and Malaysia, but I did manage to see KL City win a cup final and Malaysia hammer Singapore, which was great.

Bit weird, I love football have been watching live games for over 50 years but I cant remember ever going to watch a game where city were not playing?

Benfica against Zenit at the stadium of light is one that I attended. I arrived in Lisbon about tea time on the Tuesday for City playing Sporting in the UEFA Cup on the Thursday and had been chatting to two Benfica fans on the train from Faro
Inverness against Partick when in Inverness for a ski trip to the Cairngorms
Kilmarnock against hibs when at Butlins in Ayr about 45 years ago

London Irish have gone in administration unfortunately

Had a spell watching Maine Road, for obvious reasons, back in the days when I had more times on my hands. Was fun trying to find some of the away grounds before Google maps was a thing and often people you asked who lived on the doorstep had no idea the place even existed.

Watched a lot of semi pro/ amateur football in those days. Probably been to most grounds in and Manchester.

Like a lot of others, would occasionally venture to Stockport on a Friday night. Was there the night Brett Angel broke some record or other. Maybe scoring in seven consecutive games or something similar?
Brett Angell.a real blast from the past.
