Golf Thread

Been having a look round and there is an American Golf I can get to near my office, I hear its a mixed bag in terms of the service people have received. Its free so inclined to give it a go and see what I get out of it.

It also turns out that a mate of mine has a pal who is a golf coach so going to look at getting some lessons booked in with him and see how that goes. £55 for an hour but I could split that with a mate. He does an offer of 6 lessons for price of 5 so inclined to go with that and split it with my mate. So basically 3hrs of lessons for £140.

I’d do the lessons and then get fitted (ideally by the same pro if he does it). That way round, you’ll be fitted more for how your swing is going to be rather than what it is now.

I used to play in a society based in Hazel Grove and a lot of the lads are members at Disley . Played Disley ages ago , does it start with a par 5 ?
Yep, a short par 5 . Stroke index 17 but easiest hole on the course. I’ve just played. I scored an 8 on it tonight !!!
Yes there’s a lot come up from Grove. They have an annual disley v HG Ryder cup type day when quite a lot of beer is drunk afterwards. I’m a Covid joiner so not invited to that yet.

Macclesfield, bloody hilly and hard work.

When I fancy a change it's Buxton&High Peak, Styal, Disley or Davenport. Playing Shrigley Hall on Friday, my only previous time there towards the end of last summer was a pretty chastening experience.

Davenport best out of those

Golf season proper started- not same over winter off the mats and wrapped up... the sun is out, short sleaves, more daylight for evening rounds, our course looking great, my clubs all regripped and this season my handicap coming down (maybe!) ........booked in at a few courses across northwest for away days and have all the comps at my club....a 5 day trip to Ireland booked ...a society away day with work and I have ticket for hoy lake.....just wish I was retired and could play more :(
