Mario is definitely now a City legend. Looking back years from now, seeing the rise of Manchester City, the highlight reels will show him involved in all the pivotal moments. Nobody, with perhaps the exception of Yaya, has symbolised the transcendence of us over our Trafford rivals better than Mario. He'll be the iconic imagery that will be associated with it.

From the wink at Ferdinand, to the shot that rebounded into Yaya's path, to the first two and the Evans sending off in the 6-1, to the last gasp winner against QPR. Mario was there for those magical iconic moments which might never be bettered. These last two years, have been unbelievable, they might never even be topped. Winning the FA Cup, beating the rags on the way, and grabbing the title after their season had already finished, and Mario was there, right in the heart of those key moments.

I've got the "why always me" on a large canvas at home and i can safely say, even though he's going, it'll still stay in its place.

Was pivital in us winning the title, but in all honesty this season has been a disappointment and him leaving is best for all parties concerned.

As punishment I'm banishing you to the transfer forum and you have to read all the threads before coming back.

Awwwww (no pun intended) please don't do that to him Stony. :-)

Oh alright then.

I'm just too fucking nice for my own good.

You definitely are!! By the way, who is this Mario Balotelli guy they are all going on about? My son bought me a 3ft long canvas last Christmas with some guy with a shirt over his head saying "Why always me" surrounded by the quiet neighbours players and 6-1 underneath. Is that him?? ;-)

p.s. for those who didn't get the joke......... I am fully aware of Mario and I like him, shame that the media have made him into a laughing stock. He is a great player and sounds like a fun person to be with. After all if we were all the same where would the light be in the world?

Goodbye Mario, thanks for the fantastic memories and good luck wherever you end up.

Those same old key moments that keep getting trotted out?

Your post will have some of the Mario fans crying now Skash.

Balotelli a city legend? Is he fuck.

Aside from the odd moment of brilliance on the pitch and a couple of funny stories most of the time he caused trouble. I look forward to when we replace him with a proper pro.

Moments, not numbers, make legends. However, 30 goals and 4 assists, when he spent quite a few games of 2010/11 and this season on playing wide left as well, ain't too shabby. He will, also, forever, be the man with the best goal ratio in our first title-winning season in 42 years. He will also be forever, one of the first three City players nominated for the Balon d'Or.
