Goodbye Mario? (merged)

There is too much sentimentality surrounding this player.
The evidence is there to support that we are a better side without him and its there to suggest that he wasnt going to be in the side anytime soon and that his value had potential for going lower.
Mario has contributed to our success but he has also been hugely responsible for getting us in the mire on a number of occassions.
He goes with our thanks but if you believe he will be missed on the pitch, then that remains to be seen. I personally dont think he will be.

Gutted.... Absolutely gutted...

I was hoping all these rumors were just that, rumors. Very sad to see him go and I still feel he could have become one of the greats here.

Good luck Mario, will always remember the crazy shit you did!

It's well up for debate wheter he could be one of the greats anywhere. Truthfully, has anyone seen enough from him to truthfully say that he will be?

Do you think we are considerably weaker without him?

As for the crazy shit, is it possible that it's that stuff that we'll miss him for more than anything else?
It's definitely possible he could become a great. He likely won't, but that's not a matter of potential. So yeah I've seen enough to know he could be but "could" is very different from "will be."

As far as weaker, not really unless we get an injury. Then we're screwed.

As an outsider I'd say it's a good deal for you. I'd prefer if he'd stay. Chances are you'll now sign a better centre forward who isn't a colossal attention seeker.

Cant help but feel abit sad , he had a few chances to get it together but didnt quite manage it having said that-- some top moments.

Im glad he came but maybe its for the best he goes.

My overwhelming feelings are of disappointment - not so much the fact that he's been sold but more the fact that I hoped he would prove the doubters wrong and come good for us eventually.
Alas that hasn't been the case and I wish him well for the future. I'll take the good memories (albeit too few) that he's provided and will always have a soft spot for him - wherever that makes me a fanboy or not I'm not sure, its difficult to figure out the criteria on here as opinion is far from rational when it comes to Mario..
Two things I am sure about are that as city move onwards and upwards it'll be Mario who will end up sorrier than the club with this transfer, and a few posters on here are going to see their post count halved (which isn't such a bad thing..) until Garcia has another poor game.. :-)
