Gordon McQueen

As others have said, an old-fashioned style centre back, commanding in the air and no nonsense. He played 13 years in and around the top flight, so he was definitely good at what he did. He scored the first goal in Scotland's (in)famous victory at Wembley in 1977, a majestic header, but, oddly enough, he never played in a World Cup finals.
I remember that game ; the ball must have been fifteen feet up when he got his header in. Scotland's first man in space! RIP big man

Terrible disease and RIP, however when he signed for the Rags he did say something along these lines:

“Nearly every player wants to sign for United, the ones that say different are liars”

Won one League title with Leeds and one FA Cup with the Rags.

So him live at my first ever City game.
November 1977 at Maine Road he was playing for Leeds as they beat us 2-3.
Just remember thinking he was so big as I watched from the Kippax wall.
Rip big man

My Mam is a staunch blue but was fixated with him. RIP Gordon.
