Gotze - signed for Bayern

I would love us to sign Isco but again it's going to be incredible difficult and I won't be surprised if he goes elsewhere.
Manchester just isn't attractive as a place and that weighs on the mind more than people think when you consider the likes of Isco and Gotze can have their pick of teams basically to sign for.

Totally agree. Manchester as a desireable place to live is always going to come behind London, Barcelona, Madrid, and even Munich. This will always put us on the back foot unless our personal terms and wages are far better. I am sure that this also played a significant role in Hazzards decision to join Chelsea last year. Lets face it, if you are a 20 ear old Millionaire then the bright lights of London are more attractive than the rain of Manchester.

I've never been to Manchester but some make it out on here like its in the drudges of Serbia compared to these other cities. There's a lot more things that should weigh on you than the city itself before going to a club like the mgmt, the future/the project at the club, the players already there and the manager and the city itself somewhere in there. Plus its not like ur there 12 months a year. As many on here have said Silva gets holidays to the canary islands all the time, he's happy.

As far as gotze goes I'm sure we probably sounded out his agent and hes probably told everyone that his desire is to go to Bayern and play with pep. Clubs like ours can activate his release clause all day long but if he only wants to move to Bayern that's where he's gonna go

And to further my point about us enquiring:

Mario Götze´s 37 mill Euro "buy - out - clause" was known to all top-clubs.I understand Man City was very keen, but Guardiola his 1st choise

from a German TV guy on twitter. Pep has that pull now on young players after seeing what he did with barca. Plus he's not that old and probably relates very well with his players

So if Pep had chosen us over Bayern, we might have had Gotze?

It has another reason, too. In Germany there is so much young talent coming through - the best players apart from Schweinsteiger and Lahm are 24 and below. They are already a class above the older German players and established - even in their young age.
