Gotze - signed for Bayern

o this just keeps getting better:

"Just been told by a well-informed colleague that "Götze to Bayern" leak to @Bild came from someone in the Dortmund team, not Hoeness."

via... you already know @honigstein

pretty fucked up that one of ur own teammates leaked the story to the papers about ur transfer. i'd imagine that its been common knowledge amongst the squad for some time now since klopp was informed after the malaga game

On tonight's showing he's going to be a very fucking expensive substitute.

City should get in there for Gustavo who now clearly wont even get on Bayern's bench but is proper quality.
This been calling for us to sign Gustavo very underrated with Gotze in the Team one Toni Kroos, Muller, Shaqiri and Robben are going to constantly miss out.
Gustavo is very good and underrated player you could do a lot worse than sign him. However you are right that big name has to go. With Guardiola in charge he is crazy enough to sell Kroos or Muller. Whichever of their attacking players Bayern sell is going to be value and worth every team going for.

Gustavo is good... better than Garcia and Barry for now anyways.
Player I have always wanted is Muller, absolutely ruthless and quick player.
Very direct snd skillful, no shenanigans
He is world class and will change our team for the better.

Muller is my favourite non Palace player and has been since I first saw him. When I first saw him I thought he was just decent, because I assumed he was a 30 year old German striker. When I learnt he was teenager I was shocked and realised how special he was. The guy is a footballing professor. However, I would not say he was quick. Probably as fast as Lampard was in his prime, not as fast as Gerrard and no where near the speedsters out there.

Not that I expected to get Gotze but he really was one player whose release clouse was worth it.

Same with Javi Martinez. I know he was expensive but we really should have triggered his clause before Bayern. 2 players defo worth their money

Why is it you think we have a divine right to sign players?

How do you know we didn't bid for him, offer him 200k a week and bonuses.
Players can reject us you know?

Bayern with Pep are a huge pull and it will be extremely more difficult now to sign players with the money they have and the players.
I would hazard a guess that the German wages are significantly lower than our league's so if you are happy watching the top young talent going to other clubs as it's 'not our divine right' then that's absolutely fine.

My opinion is if we are offering 200k (as you quoted), with fantastic bonuses and a chance to play with the title challengers of the strongest league then someone isn't doing their job correctly in attracting these players. We're not exactly shit are we...

Are you living in some parallel universe mate? Bayern have similar wage structure to City, barely behind. Gotze will earn 7 mil. eur per season. He wouldn't get much more at City and nobody ever was able to attract German players wanted by Bayern. Not even Madrids, Barcelonas, Uniteds, Milans etc.. so it's certainly mission impossible for newcomers like City.

Except last Euro due to Ozil, Khedira, Podolski etc.. going abroad, German national team was filled almost completely by Bundesliga players for dozen big tournaments prior.
No parallel universe here! I would say my gripe isn't with Gotze himself, I can fully understand his decision. My main issue is that Aguero and Kompany are the only young world class talents we have ever signed (imo). Seeing a young player like Gotze with his circumstances is understandable but when it continually happens then it makes me feel like something isn't right.

That doesn't mean I believe we have a divine right as earlier stated, it means I think there is a potential issue at the club when attracting the top tier of potential talent.

Yes there is an issue. Teams like Bayern, Real, Barca and even Chelsea are bigger teams than us and so are more attractive to the likes of Gotze.
I would love us to sign Isco but again it's going to be incredible difficult and I won't be surprised if he goes elsewhere.
Manchester just isn't attractive as a place and that weighs on the mind more than people think when you consider the likes of Isco and Gotze can have their pick of teams basically to sign for.
