Government loses Abu Qatada appeal

Bung him on a plane, take him to Jordan, leave him there. Then argue the legalities of the matter afterwards. It would hardly be the most controversial thing this, or any UK Government, has done. Hide who gave the order behind "national security" issues and, in 25 years, when the documents become part of the public domain, no-one will give a shit anymore.

Whether he's guilty of the specific crimes he's being charged with in Jordan or not doesn't change the fact the UK would be infinitely better off without his hate mongering going on on our shores.

Good idead but you would probably get a load of do gooders & hippies marching on parliament

If that's the worse case scenario then it's still the route to take, what are they likely to do, throw some mung beans and organic cous cous at the Prime Minister?

As a nation we are a joke. A complete laughing stock.
The French removed similar people without any legal action - they were put on a plane and kicked out! The USA wouldn't even blink an eye - he would be gone.
Us - we go thru 6 years of extremely costly legal action (Qatada's legal bill is being picked up by me and you under legal aid by the way) and we still can't remove him.
It's pathetic. It makes you embarrased to be English (yes I'm English - not British).

I agree "laughing stock" is an understatement. Why can't this guy go to sleep one night in blighty, but when he wakes up, surprise surprise he ain't in blighty anymore. The Russians would have sorted this guy by now.

Oh I dunno, some crusty waving a tie die t shirt at him could be quite intimidating.

When this case starts to get you down, or if it starts to irritate you or even starts to annoy you greatly....Just take Danny Bakers advice and every time his name is mentioned on the radio or T.V. simply (very crassly) sing his name out loud to the "av' a banaaaaana' theme.......while it won't go towards curing the problem in anyway, it will put a semi-perminant grin on your face that will on occasions, stay there for upto half a day. Try it, it will change your life. If you know any daily mail readers, please forward this advice, its guarenteed to illeviate the effects of incandescent rage and blood boiling!

Its a good job BM doesnt judge anything important.

Didnt we grant him political asylum because he had been tortured. He has never been convicted of any crimes here yet spent loads of time locked up without trial.

Yet now we want to send him to the country we granted political asylum from.

Correct. He hasn't actually been charged with anything.

The Jordanians convicted him in absence on the basis of confessions/evidence obtained by torture, it is this evidence they have used to want extradition.

However loathsome this guy is, I can't see any courts agreeing to extradite unless new evidence arises, or Jordan can guarantee that he will not be tortured again - and this isn't likely.

If he preached hatred here why hasnt he been convicted for it?

What exactly has he done wrong since he arrived here?

And i wonder if people get him mixed up with Abu Hamza
