my char also got deleted but didn't lose my money.

Same, but now the cloud servers are down completely. Somebody on the GTA forums said don't create a new character in the same slot as your original, it should come back.

Only managed to get online about ten minutes ago. Must be server issues again

Yes, You can also have one character in multiple crews.
