Grealish left out of the CWC squad (pg34)

You want a highlight reel, go to YouTube. Thats just what clearly came to mind off the top of my head.

And yes, created two goals against Orient. Watch that back too. Khusanov’s “goal” could’ve been Lewis’s which Grealish would’ve assisted and he got the assist for de Bruyne’s goal.
I don't need a highlight reel of him running into defenders, getting tackled and getting a free kick, or back and sideways passes.

A shame. Such a nice guy and seemed proper happy to be joining city. Just hadn’t quite worked out as everyone would have liked.
I was hoping to see a bit of him in the middle to see if he could work there as our wide he just doesn’t have the pace of even technical ability of say mahrez.

Wish him well with his next move.

Part of me also thinks behind the jack the lad persona there are issues that he is hiding.

It’s easy to forget his sister had cerebral palsy and he was 4 when his brother died at a young age . That must have an effect on him and just because he earned millions doesn’t stop the internal pain and struggles he may be going through.

Would be nice if we just wished him well and moved on rather than cast shade on the lad.
Perfectly pitched post that mate, it’s where most of us should be, we don’t pay his wages, we never paid the fee, we don’t pick the team, Imho his City career hasn’t panned out the way anyone connected to the club would of liked (save for a treble season purple patch) including Jack, there’s no sense in pulling it apart, there will be a multitude of issues all of which have contributed to his time, some journeys just don’t pan out. The club have decided to move on, he will have to be realistic in terms of wages, as the World Cup is fast approaching, so he should be looking to play as many minutes as possible, given the lack of’ the last two seasons. Wouldn’t rule out a return to Villa, or maybe a Spurs, either way he’ll always get a good reception when returning

It’s all coming out the closet now we’ve had a poor year, isn’t it? I said last week this season and a part of last season hasn’t been particularly great to watch, but the way you worded that post came across as ungrateful to the man that has given us everything we’ve seen for the past 10 years. If Pep never changed his free flowing football like we saw until 2020, we may never have seen the treble or four in a row. He’s a tactical genius and that’s proven by the records he’s smashed.

I don't need to be grateful to Pep. The club gives him £20m+ a year to do a job and he does it well. It's what I expected him to do.

I'd prefer to see more exciting, entertaining football from both teams rather than City dominating a one-sided training session every week. Unfortunately, Pep prefers to use players who stick to rigid instructions and tend to lack any real flair.

Equally, though, if he was foreign he'd be far less likely to be in all the papers every single time he goes out for a drink.

I agree he's guilty of making some bad decisions, but he gets far more scrutiny for his off-field behaviour because he was once England's next big thing.

This isn’t true. On the contrary Grealish is protected from on high by Stellar. Maybe 1/10 of his antics end up in the papers.

EDIT ..

Message deleted, I let the state of the forum today get on top of me and I'm not having a go at fellow blues.

Pep ruined him. Argue with yourselves.

He ruined himself
50/50 I reckon. Love Pep and what he has done for the club, feel for Jack not least because he comes across as a very decent human being. Ultimately don't think he had the elite mentality needed to be a serial winner but also think it didn't do him any favours trying to fit into City

Then I think we can all agree £100m is a hell of a lot to spend on someone and then switch their position to one that doesn't really suit their best attributes.

We either signed him with a view of playing him in his villa position, then Pep had a look at him and decided he didn't fancy him there. Or we signed him with the view of sticking him on the left, which is then a misjudgment of his attributes and poor scouting.

In my opinion, it's the former.
It was a poor signing that we didnt need - quite a few said this at the time

There seemed to be a problem with Jack after the game on Tuesday - he was nowhere near any of the other players until Bernardo came over to talk to him & then gave him a hug - something has definitely kicked off! Shame he’ll be going, as he seems a decent human, though not sure we’ve given him the best platform (he’s not a winger) & consequently he seems to have gone back off the rails, if rumours are to be believed! Still loved his shirt off treble celebrations!

Despite all the medals he's won I'm sure he'll look back at his career with some disappointment. It's a relatively short career but I guess when you're in it you don't realise it at the time. Lovely bloke and has the talent to be one of the greats but it hasn't worked out for him sadly.

Phil seemed to be concerned about him too, when they were warming up on the touchline.

We should’ve moved him on last summer since he wasn’t anywhere in Pep’s plans for the season. We’d have at least gotten a little more for him and maybe that would’ve been an earlier wake up call that

Think what you like about Jack, we'll have a blander squad when he leaves.

All the real 'colourful characters' are gradually drifting away or have been whittled out of the club. I reckon there's only Bernardo left who has any real personality after Jack leaves.

It's a shame. The game could do with a few more Mario types to liven things up.
Seems so many sports have gone this way.
