Look, if Pep wants him to stay and fight for a place, then it's all good, But If Jack is not happy and wants out, then that's ok too, City will want a good fee for him and get some of the investment back, anything over £50million would be the minimum and forget any loan deal,
I read that it is under £40m that he has been offered to Newcastle for

Be two sides to every story.

I want to see the good in Jack and believe the lad has been training and working as hard as he can but Pep just doesn't want him tactically which is fine. A frustrating end to his time here if it comes to an end this summer, without a proper goodbye etc.

However, if the other side of the story is that hes just been on the piss, late to training, not putting effort in etc etc then I have a lot less sympathy.

Personally I think Pep is doing his bit to get a good price for Jack. Apart from a short spell two years ago, he never convinced me he was worth £100m.

He's never matched the price tag, but with the slots he was given and the time he spent on the pitch he wasn't likely to! I think whatever price we get if he goes is the price we should have paid.

Newcastle? He wouldn’t last — constantly going down and drawing fouls would just frustrate the players and disrupt their rhythm. Newcastle isn’t a place for the soft, and Jack is as soft as they come.
And let’s say it does go through — who does he realistically bench to justify the kind of wages he’ll be on?
How’s he soft ?

This isn’t true. On the contrary Grealish is protected from on high by Stellar. Maybe 1/10 of his antics end up in the papers.

Neither did I ever regard him as 'England's next big thing'. Was genuinely surprised we were in for him. When the reported fee came out I was even more convinced we were just showing interest to inflate the price for Utd to have egg on their face again as we've done on numerous occasions over the years. Pep had said a few months prior that we can't afford/don't buy £100 million players and I found that reassuring that we wouldn't touch him at that price. Really, really poor signing.

I note with interest what some posters are saying about Grealish, he's a pisshead, he's unprofessional, etc, etc.

I have no idea whether they are basing these statements on firm info or whether it's media bollocks.

I'm also aware that Pep can be a moody sod, he's very stubborn, and is more than capable of falling out with players and freezing them out.

I suspect we'll find out next season when Jack gets a coach who plays him in his best position, makes him feel like he belongs, and puts faith in him.

What happens then? Does he let that coach down by having a poor attitude or do we see the old Jack Grealish return?

I suspect it's the latter.
What best position? He hasn't got a best position. He's not a left winger or a midfielder, so what is he beside being a show pony who mostly plays within himself.

Pep has put faith in him time and time again but Jack the lad can't be arsed, more interested in partying and getting pissed. He's a loose cannon maverick who is wasting his football career. Shame really as he has more footballing ability than most players.

He's done here isn't he. Gutted, clearly something not right between him and Pep. Hopefully just a loan to somewhere like Villa, Spurs, Newcastle, etc. to get his confidence back and we'll see where we stand in 12 months.

Poor is abit harsh. Good signing who for whatever reason turned in average performances. His lifestyle seems to have played a part and pep didn’t trust him in the middle and then he lost whatever he had during our struggles. Also had few injuries.

Add all that and you get the current situation.

Hopefully we get a good fee in the region of £40 million. That would at least make it not a total disaster. Loan after loan until contacts ends would be shit.

I won’t forget his role in the treble season.

Never was and never will be a £100 million player. Cash should have been spent on 2 world class fullbacks. Fee and hype not Jack’s fault - just plain bad judgement by the club. Never a winger and his best game this season was v Forrest at home when he played CM - he wasn’t outstanding then but looked better than he does as a wide player

He was instrumental in the treble winning season and therefore justified his price tag. He's turning 30 soon and has had fe injuries so perhaps his best years are behind him
