It's disappointing that 3 years after we bought him for 100 million he's stepped down to a team that has struggled for a few seasons. At his age he should be playing for a top six team, either here or in another top European league.
Personally I'd have preferred two 50 million players, but he can't be blamed for the transfer fee. Also, we only have ourselves to blame if we didn't play him where he plays best.

I maintain Grealish is better at ball retention. You just can't get the ball off him without fouling him. He's strong and got a brilliant first touch but he's too slow when running with the ball to do any damage.

You really need to go look up Nasri's ball retention, easily one of the best.

However, I think Jack draws fouls more from it due to his ability to taunt the opposition when he's on the ball, so I would give him that but when it comes to purposeful and productive ball retention? Nasri takes it.

Not sure I agree mate, other than I suppose I could have extracted the second sentence of the second paragraph and the third paragraph and made them part of the same paragraph, but I’d say the way that reads is that the third paragraph follows directly from the second sentence of the second paragraph.

I’m never going to claim perfection with my English. I frequently make mistakes, as we all do when we are furiously typing, and I’ll happily hold my hands up when I’ve made a mistake (except when identified by @johnnytapia ) but I think it was clear what I was saying there. And certainly when someone posts something unexpected or controversial I think we should all read it back carefully before jumping to conclusions, although again I’m not saying I’m perfect in that regard either.

Anyway, it’s no biggie (despite the length of this post!) :-)

Crying shame we never saw Nasri under Pep, if I recall correctly he was an absolute menace and in top shape that pre season under Pep, before going to Sevilla on loan and never being seen again.
