Great article in the Independent

never understood a fucking word

There's a difference, that article is English while NME was just gobbledygook written while the authors were tripping on acid. ;-)

Sorry...tried to read it but I think the media has written so much shite about us in the past that I am now incapable of reading a single article whether its for or against....i find I no longer need others to approve of or qualify what I already know about my club....their opinions count for so little.

another journalist deciding the time is right to blow smoke up City's arse...see what he writes when we lose a game

"Yet Mancini, a man for so long associated with the Italian passion for defensive security, has, it seems, outstripped the limitations he might once have been inclined to impose on this or any team."

Is it just me but why do journalists persist in the notion that Mancicni has learnt how to play attractive, attacking football suddenly, as if it was the media's criticisms that motivated him to do this? The truth is that Mancini's sides have always tried to play good football, in the style of the man himself. Anyone with a sense of perspective knew what he was doing when he came here. He was creating a side that was hard to beat, then introduced creativity and stabilty to achieve his aims in his first full season: Champion's League qualification. The big bonus for us was the FA Cup win which finally galvanisd the team into believing they were not only a good team but could be a great team. Now this season we are seeing a piece of football history being created before our eyes. This was always going to happen and was not a reaction to the press saying, 'boring, boring City.' Thankfully we have incredible owners who not only saw what Mancini had done but what he was capable of doing with our beloved blues. Mini rant over and done with. I thank you :-)

If I could understand a word of it I might agree with it!!

Would someone please enlighten me what the writer is talking about?

The article was written by James Lawton-chief football writer for the paper.
it basically says..

My name is James Lawton, for the past two seasons i have grasped every opportunity to slag off manchester city football club and poor scorn on their efforts to move to the top of the premier league. i have laughed at them, took the piss out of their spending and constantly advised mancini that you cannot buy success.

Only two months ago i did a nasty little peice entitled"Citys flawed ambition can only drive the game mad"advising my readers for the upteenth time that "you cannot simply throw money at players of disparate skill and expect a smooth result"

i am now forced to write a positive article on city, having nothing to moan about after their brilliantly effective dismantling of champions league opposition away from home. i offer no apology to mancin for doubting his managerial ability. i am now, finally, a David Silva fan.he,s a quite a good player isn,t he?

I couldn,t bring myself to comment AT ALL on citys 6-1 drubbing of utd, even tho i am the chief football writer i had nothing to say on the match of the season so far. but now i,ve turned full circle and city are great. i am a hypocrite,my name is jame lawton.chief football writer of the independent.
