great away support memories, not just numbers.

Anyone remember our first away game after being relegated (1983/84) at Crystal Palace?

I've never been as packed in as that day. We won 2.0. Once we scored the crowd surged forward and I didn't see my mates again until after the game.

I still remember singing our take on Culture Club's Karma Chameleon - Karma, Karma, Karma, Karma, Come on City!!

I really think you had to be there to appreciate it!

Villa away 91? 5-1 (David White scored 4). Great following about 5k for a midweek game and gave us a chance to to wheel out the "one two, one two three, one two three four, five one" chant.

Forest away twice, 93 in the league when we were on the FA Cup run (we all seemed to think it might just be our year) and again under Joe Royle when we were going up. Both great turn outs and cracking vocal backing.

Leeds away in the cup 77 - we had lost to them in the league on the day the cup draw was made that took us back there.Leeds invaded the pitch,Corrigan twatted Leeds fans in his goal and a single City fan got over the fence and ran into the Leeds fans on his own never to be seen again. We had the end and down the side, great support.

Also,WBA away (Gayle lost the ball in the floodlights game)when the inflatables kicked off with each other at half time - been mentioned on here before but so funny.

Too many more to mention - shit team but support was always good.

I was thinking about suggesting doing something similar to that this year. Do you reckon we could get it off the ground on here?

Never been prouder to be a blue than that day, great support.

It was pretty spontaneous, just no one wanted to stop.

Not seen it before or since.

yeah that was brilliant too...

think it carried on at portsmouth away the next game but not to the same level

god I love city...

I think the closest we came to matching it was at Spurs in the same/next year. If memory serves me right we'd just scored before half time (possibly Claudio Reyna) and we kept "oh when the blues...." going pretty much all the way through half time, granted the numbers weren't as good but it was a still a top effort.

stoke away boxing day we had bananas, lilos, fried eggs, swiming pools, rubber dolls the fancy dress was good but we were all blues brothers

Liverpool away, midweek game, might have been 2003 or 2004, think we lost 2-1, but swp scored

was one of the best atmospheres ive experienced

Great shout, not many people remember this game think it was something like our 12th game without a victory under Keegan but our fans that night were fantastic.

Top night.

I was at this. SWP scored at our end too if I remember rightly. I also remember setting off on the coach, late as usual and getting stuck in traffic on the Manc Way as the shite were at home that night. Once they realised who we were (it wasn't the kind of coach to encourage colours to be honest) we got the usual grief and "come on then" from the big hard trafford shite. All changed when the coach started to empty in the middle of the Manc Way and politely ask them to repeat the questions and comments please..... Talk about doors locked and a rapid change of attitude. All very sad really I know- but it was hillarious.

-- Mon Oct 03, 2011 8:58 pm --

Anyone remember 1990 I think it was - last game of season and Palace away?
Thousands of blues brothers heading down the motorway..

I reckon in a way that's why it was so good. You either stood and got depressed watching the game or thought fuck it I'm gonna have a good time no matter what the result. It's definitely the way forward!

Luton away i think 91 under Peter Reid
Away fans banned, we got tickets off Luton fans who disagreed with the ban.
We were a bit nervous until 4000 city fans cheered the first goal.
Then it was party time for the rest of game.
Finished 2 v 2
