Greatest Ever Away Day?

Nice thread to reminisce. A few of my favourites for various reasons are
Everton in FA Cup quarter final 1981
Blackburn 3-2 when the team out of all character were brilliant, think Walsh got the winner.
The Ali B show in the 6-2 at Sheff Weds
2-1 at West Ham in the league cup replay back in the mud 80's. Was in the West Ham end
Brilliant day at QPR 2-1 in the FA Cup
Oldham 2-2 when we had 3/4 of the ground
Palace 2-2 with the Blues brothers
Newcastle away 2-0 in the league cup replay.
That QPR game was mint.

100 % the QPR game at home was my best ever . even though I got trampled on lol. But for me the best ever away game was the semi final against that lot in 2011 with the YAYA YAYA, YAYA YAYA YAYA, YAYA YAYA YAYA , YAYA YAYA YAYA TOURE goal. It started a new era after so many years of crap.

Is that the game it poured down all game? If it is I remember giving West Midlands finest dogs abuse. Every time they came close I yelled abuse at them, but they couldn't see me. I had a massive hood on my parka and they missed me every time, 3 4 and then 5 stood within a couple of feet of me and I kept getting away with calling them scumbags. Every time.they came in the lads round me said, this time it's you, fortunately it wasn't. 2 weeks later at Ipswich as I walked to my seat a lad grabbed his mate and said, this is the lad I was telling you about from the Coventry game. It turns out my behaviour was far worse than I thought it was and I was extremely fortunate not to get arrested.

The Sheffield Wednesday 6-2 game was a good shout. My team derailed due to all the bouncing going on in the carriage.

Grimbsy 2-0 the same season also comes to mind.

Loads have already been mentioned that are up there for me, the Munich Anniversary game, the 6-1, the only OT away game I would also put in there which sticks out in my mind is the 3-0 when Moyes was their manager.

Arsenal in the snow in 2018, possibly the best we've ever played in the first half (until the Madrid home semi in 2023) and then the NYD game was also unbelievable. Of course the 3-1 in 2023 was pretty good too.

West Ham away under Sven will always have a special place in my heart, felt like the whole direction of the club changed in 90 minutes.

Any games in the run ins for title wins stick out for me - Newcastle in 2012, Everton and Palace 2014, Brighton 2019, Fulham and Spurs 2024.

Obviously loads in Europe - I agree that finals don't count (although I'll give a shout out for Athens in the SC as that was class) but I could be here all day talking about trips in Europe - not Basel though, that place was wank.

A real iconic away day for me was Norwich in 2012. It was only a week after we'd gone 8 points behind united after losing to Arsenal but during the week we beat WBA and they lost to Wigan so it was back down to 5 points, we were the early kick off on the Saturday. A group of about 5 of us stayed down there on the Friday night, had a great night out, got locked out of the hotel so me and my mate ended up sleeping in my car. A coach with a load of my mates on left town at about 4am, quite a few of them had gone out the night before and just went straight through - one lad brought a girl he'd met on this night out on to the coach - she ended up going all the way to Norwich and back.

Also, for a bit of context, it was the same weekend as the FA Cup semi's where Liverpool were playing Everton, so all the coaches allocated for football in the North West had been taken - my mate that organised the bus had to tell them that it was for a bobsleigh event not football which is why if you ever wonder why there's a Jamaican flag in the away end saying "Cool Runnings Branch" you now know.

We won 6-1, Tevez and Aguero were finally playing together and they were unbelievable. The sun was out and we got to two points behind top - little did we know there were more twists and turns to come

Was that the game with all the crowd trouble ? Newcastle were a bad lot back then .
Yeah it was the fa cup game where hundreds of them came into our corner from the Gallogate. Got kept in for ages afterwards (thank fuck lol) and then my first ever experience of a police escort. Won 3 1 but my brother and his mate both got busted noses, for some reason I didn’t get butted or smacked

Aye it was pissing down all day. Mickey Quinn scored twice for then and they invaded the pitch both times for some reason.
