Fuck me he’s a creep, made some bad remarks, now they all come out the wood work, must be money available!

Agree with that. He's also of a "certain age" where he probably grew up around this sort of humour.

The world has changed, he just needs to embrace it, go quiet, he seems to be guilty of being a bit of a prick, I'm sure 70% of men on here of the "certain age" have made similar comments/humour in the past, but as we're not "celebs" we (and I'll include myself) don't get called out for it.

I work with the navy, and I cringe at some of the comments the males make in front of women, in fact I cringe at some of the comments the women make also.
Christ I hope they don’t go back over my work history, military and fire service exactly like the navy mate, woman (most of them) just as bad. I’m a dinosaur like Wallace but like you say it’s what I’ve grown up with, people saying you should change it’s just bollocks it’s the way you are, my humour reflects that Manning, Connolly etc no wonder youngsters can’t take “banter” when they’ve grown up with Miranda. I’m not excusing Wallace of anything but it’s all words if these people made complaints and nothing was done then the bbc are wankers however the people themselves could’ve told him to fuck off, as for Rod Stewart why didn’t he go down a lamp him one for treating his wife like shit.

Society is always changing. Anyone who is in their 20s and a bit right on or woke now will probably find themselves on the wrong side of the pink hair/rainbow line in 30 years time.
Germain Greer is a great example of this. She was a progressive feminist back in the 70s and now the goalposts have moved she finds herself no longer on the moral high ground because she's not into birds with cocks and beards.
I find it interesting that the rise in pc and woke stuff seems to correspond with a decline in what would have been called manners.

If you don't change with society, it is on you.
That doesn't mean forgetting who you are, but it does mean adapting.
When you don't adapt, and then blame society for changing, you become extinct.

He’s an ex-barrow boy from South London who has been married 4 times. So basically he is a cockney dodger and diver.

Not my cup of tea but always enjoyed his shows, just a small number of people seem offended enough by him to register a complaint.

Seems more stupid than dangerous.

Assuming the change is for the better of course. Each successive generation tends to believe they've invented sex and alcohol as well as knowing better than the one before. You can guarantee they whatever is on the edge of taboo or comedy now will be mainstream in a generation or so. We had feminism, LGB, then T and Q got in on it. There's only really bestiality and paedophilia (and our slightly hypocritical relationship with drugs) left I suppose, but give it another 30 years and we'll probably have comedians no platformed for nonce and sheep shagging jokes as they will be lifestyle choices. Sadly too late to support my claim that the cow just backed into me while I was having a pee :-(

It's a very strange time, society is full of "I can do what I want" wankers (no pun intended) but, ignoring people like Wallace's actions which are not right, there's so much stuff now that isn't deemed PC. It's like everyone is turning Scouse.

I'm so happy I'm out of the work & finding women cycle etc being retired early and married & just chilling these days.

Edit: just seen 9 arrested for chanting at Anfield...glad I don't do aways either now.

Attitudes change over time and people with half a brain recognise that. Sadly for Wallace he seems to be a bit of a thick **** living in the 1980s. There were people in the 1980s who hadn’t moved on from 1950s attitudes who people thought were twats. No surprise that there’s people like this now but it’s unusual for them to have high profile TV jobs.

Oooooh, I'm in the 2020's and haven't moved on from the 50's. The fifties were great. Particularly 'the 56 final and City were praised to the rooftops by the media which hadn't been tainted by the current crop of cretins who lurk behind every red shirt.

That “certain age” being 60, a year younger than me. You’re right we’ve all grown up in different times and lived and worked in different circumstances. Some, probably most of us have learnt to adapt to the changing times and should have the emotional intelligence to “know our audience”. He obviously hasn’t got that capacity
