Guardiola to Axe Kompany (Various Sources)

It's a fucking fact you goon. They've never spent this many seasons reaching the semi finals consecutively. Their entire history since 1976 has been occasionally doing well and then returning to being quarter finalists, last 16 - even not qualifying.
Better to be a goon than a gooner - cos your logic is not winning but coming close is success. Are Arsenal on their most successful period cos of top 4 finishes? Are they hell - no one gives a toss and Wenger is being laughed at. Oh yeah - and by the way football is completely different nowadays due to the money in the game top teams are invariably going to do well year in year out far more than before

For Gods sake - I was NOT trying to compare Allisons prior record to Peps i was comparing the approach Allison had in 79 with what Pep seems to be doing. Allison got rid of all our best players many of which were the "leaders" of the team. Pep is doing the same. It was a friggin disaster with Malc. We won't fall apart as much this time obviously - with infinite money and Computer football manager technique of buying tons of quality players we are never going to be as bad as Malc. But I still think this is an ego approach for Pep

I do worry at times that certainly on Hart it may have been n ego thing (but I don't know that) ......and that fucked up royally...btu i don't think it is with Kompany at all....

i want him to come back purely cause he is hands down the best centre half we have by a long long way......the rest of our options don't even come close to him and never will.

My arguments have nothing to do with sentiment one bit.
Trouble is we don't know if he is any where near the vinny of old,he probably isn't now

FFS this is about Pep/Kompany. Can you lot take your argument about Bayern to PM.
Sorry, but there are some of us here, not for an argument.

Think Kompany has played his last game for City.
It's sad, but it's unfortunate.
God ! he was good. Imagine how great he could have been, if not for injuries.

Having thought about it, he's a club legend one of the favourites, the club captain people do want to see him back.

That might be the point though, it's all the waiting 'til Kompany recovers from his latest injury it makes the team lose focus, emotions go up and down "He's back... season saved... Oh wait he's injured again... We're fucked!!! :(..." The defense then gets even worse for the next few weeks(months?) while they regain some confidence. It's not healthy for the team or the fans to keep going through that process.

The demands we would place on him might be too much now so we have to think long term, who knows what Vinny's plans are maybe he will want to retire and stay on at City and get his coaching badges? Maybe he will go somewhere where the demands aren't pushing him to his limits all the time resulting in injuries. It's sad but it might be the smartest move to make, next season we should be putting as much right as we can(our transfer policy could have been better in some areas I think we can all agree), saying goodbye to some older players and bringing in some new fresh faces to take us to the next level, getting the players on loan off the books too. There's a lot to do, it seems harder to get rid of players than it is to buy them, there's a lesson to be learned there maybe I know I've stopped being so quick to want to sign the flavour of the month just because we can.
