Guardiola to Axe Kompany (Various Sources)

I am not sure why the manager worries about having to use a sub on Vincent Kompany, he rarely subs before 70 minutes anyway!!

Newsflash.

Virtually no manager in the game uses subs before 70 mins or so unless they have injuries.

I know that gets rid of a stick with which to beat the guy with but fuck it, im in a party spoiling mood tonight.

I really really hope he can have a Yaya like comeback - even if he then moves on at the end of the season.

A great footballer, a great leader, a great guy.

Would love him and Zaba to be our managers one day.

An involvement in the club/group yes....managers no.

It's far too precarious a position. I don't want their legacy to be undermined. It should be allowed to develop in posterity.

Well we knew this was going to happen sometime but it looks like it's sooner than what we all thought,if kompany does go end of season he gets nothing but my best wishes and hopefully comes back to the club in some capacity..

Fuck it, if I had a football club to run I would have more than enough to deal with without keeping around a highly-paid 30-year-old captain who never plays and so will probably never fully adapt to your style. You have to look at it from Pep's viewpoint.

I adore vinny as well but as pep said he can't risk him breaking down and using up a sub,it's happened a few times now,it's not difficult to grasp if you put emotions to the side

Are these the emotions you don't put aside in the Hart thread by chance ?

Kompany is the best defender we have, the same as Hart was the best keeper we had, Hart has has been forced out, Vinny is here and either needs to be playing or sold or released, sitting twiddling his thumbs is a disgrace for a legend like him, risk him if he breaks down then put a sub on, that is what they are there for, you still have two more to use with 7 minutes left.

As for those saying if he breaks down he will be harder to sell, it is hardly like we need the money or the likes of Bridge, Adebadbuy etc etc left the club in profit as they walked out of the door, I would prefer VK to have a go at staying fit or be allowed to leave/retire with some dignity.

That was a bitchy seeing as i got over joe a long time ago,i am attached to several players joe and vinny included and getting rid and injury ravaged are totally different situations
As i say i adore vinny and would love to see him back but i can't argue with pep not trusting his fitness to hold up,imagine the derby, vinny lasts 15 mins, the whole game plan goes tits up and it uses a very early sub, pointless.Pep can't win in this situation can he,i hate to see vinny like this just as much as everyone else but it is what it is,we won't even consider selling him so that is not an issue,if he can't play he will retire imo

Who will buy him anyway with his injury record.
Play him and see what happens, i dont mean liverpool against a lesser team.

Imagine the derby and Vinny has put his injury worries to one side and goes on to captain the side for the rest of the season, teaching Stones how to be a better defender rather than the headless chicken and brainless one he has had to put up with all season.

Not very bitchy, considering I was with you on the Hart thread but you can't have it both ways surely ? Pep is wrong to not give one legend a chance but he is right to ditch the captain just in case he may or may not have to use a substitute.

If he has no intention of playing him, he should be man enough to say so, instead we keep getting the he is fit comment when he is asked, I think it is just a bit disrespectful for a guy who has pretty much given his all for our club.

At the end of the day if he is fit then he should be in the team, we do pay him to play not sit in the stands watching, if he isn't fit then maybe it is time to talk about retirement or releasing him so he can choose to go to a team that wants him, ideally he would choose to stay in Manchester with his Manchester wife and become part of the backroom staff but then would Pep want that or indeed Vinny.

Do you honestly think pep and vinny don't talk about what is happening? my feeling is he is giving vinny as much time as he can to get fit,he has only been back training with the team for 2 weeks(said pep today) i also think vinny will get the decision on whether to retire or keep going,i don't think he will be forced to do anything,in the meantime pep will only play fit players,we all hate to see this situation it but it is what it is
