guess next season's squad

De Laurentiis is a hard man to deal with. He will not let Insigne go for less than 60m. He is asking 70m for Higuain, who is almost 30 yo.

If those are the minimum fees we can get away with, I'd bin those deals without a heartbeat, we don't need to spend that much on non-world class players. Eugh, I appear to have come over all Funguson-y, but the point still stands.

Hart 1, Denayer 2, Sagna 3, VK 4, Stones 5, Fernando/Kroos 6, Raheem 7, Nasri 8, New striker/Kelechi 9, Kun 10, Sane 11, Ederson 13, Laporte 14, Navas 15, Gundogan 16, KDb 17, Delph 18, 19 Pogba(?), 20 Mangala(?)/New lb , 21 Silva, Clichy 22, Fernadinho 25, Angelino 69, 72 Kelechi, A Garcia 75, Brahim (?)

Missed anyone?

The amount of money involved in today's football is crazy. But, still, we have to spend. Lets hope we will spend better than previous years.

Pogba should have 8. It is our # 10 and it should go to the guy we build the team around.

I had either Kroos or Gundogan as 8 because they both currently wear it and Pogba used to wear 6 at Juve so I was just assuming, also Denayer was given the number 28 last season so expected him to keep it.

Didn't Wright retire?

GK : Hart, Geronimo Rulli ? , Lawlor
LB : Clichy, Danny Rose ?
RB : Denayer, Sagna, Zaba
CB : Vinny, Laporte, Otamendi
CM : Fernandinho, Delph/Fernando, Gundogan, Kroos ?
LM/LW : Raheem, Nasri
RM/RW : Sane
CAM : De Bruyne, Silva
ST : Kelechi, Kun, Griezmann ?

OUT : Bony (no reasoning required), Navas (poor final ball, poor finishing and aging) , Yaya (Pep likes to play high-pressing football and backtracking, so Yaya isn't cut out for the job), Fernando/Delph (I cannot see both of them being implemented into the squad, so one will go), Mangala (Again, not a Pep player), Kolarov (Liability as LB but could be played on the wing. I just don't think Pep will keep him for his crossing alone), Caballero (Cup hero, but defo doesn't bring any competition to Hart)

IN : Geronimo Rulli (Sociedad player, been linked with us. I just cannot see Ter Stegen come to us just to be a cup player or a backup to Joey. So if Ter Stegen comes I think we'll sell Joey, which I don't want.)
Danny Rose ( I still don't think he'll be considered or he'll come to us but just for the sake of it..)
Laporte (It's either him or Stones. And I think he's a better prospect than Stones)
Gundogan (Strongly connected, plus I believe that he is a perfect Pep midfielder i.e pass, pass and pass.)
Kroos (I'd be over the moon if he joins us, I really rate him but it's hard to think there's anything concrete in this story. He just won a CL with real and is a fan favorite)
Sane ( Pep likes his winger fast. He's the closest in terms of style and ability to Kingsley Coman of Bayern who flourished under Pep, and has a huge potential. He could play multiple positions which I think is perfect for Pep's tactics)
Griezmann (I'm being overly optimistic with this one but I just put him here because of my personal liking for the guy. And I really think with the Injury record of Sergio we just cannot rely on a teenager, so for that reason, I think we need a world class Striker.)

So realistically, OUT - 7
IN - 5 (excluding Griezmann)

Along with all this, I think we'll see a lot of youth being introduced into the squad.

So you'd have 3 GKs, 3 LBs and 3 RBs but only 2 strikers, one of whom is fairly injury prone and the other pretty inexperienced?

Thinking out loud:

Let's test Juve's resolve for Dybala. Seems like someone who might want to come here. But i'd be honest, if we miss out on Poggy, then he had better not come close to England.

Hart

Gundogan* Fernandinho Isco*
Dybala* Aguero De Bruyne/Sane*

Can see us getting both stones and Laporte with mangala being sold

Would love to see Dybala here but I dont see Juve selling him for anything too far off what they would want for Pogba, but as you say wouldn't hurt to test their resolve
