No solutions to the leftback issue yet. But I like the look of this 6. 2 CBs, 2 Wingers and 2 CMs. I'd leave it up to Pep how he intends to fit them in.

Rather than Lucas Lima, what do you think about Gabriel Barbosa instead? In the same mould as Dybala in that he could play on the wings and the backup striker if needed.

I'm all for it. Just want 2 possible wingers. Saw Lima today for Brazil. Looks a mix BTW Silva and Sterling. Haven't seen enough, bit the reviews are great. And I'm.really pushing for 2 wingers. Lima is really just a place holder.

*Before you scoff Yaya undoubtedly has the capabilities to play there for Pep, in fact he's probably more mobile than Alonso and he isn't a bad passer at all. Still the best in the squad at it.

Thoughts? Still needs improvements but not a bad squad at all, certainly capable of big things with Guardiola in charge.

NEW GK - Both the keepers we've been linked with: Ederson Moraes and Geronimo Rulli would be good options as both have good technique and are young. I'd probably prefer Moraes as he seems less error prone (Although I've not seen much of either). Zieler would have been a good option and cheap too but it looks like he's going to Leicester.

NEW LB - I think a new left back is a must. Clichy is capable but not at the level of a Champions League winning side. Converting Delph into a left back is a nice idea but I don't think he has the technique or football brain to play anywhere in a Pep team. I'd go for Juan Bernat, Danny Rose, Jetro Willems, Andrew Roberson, Ryan Bertrand, Ricardo Rodriguez, Jose Gaya, Layvin Kurzawa, Lucas Digne.. There are so many options better than what we already have in this are I can't beleive we haven't strengthened it in so many years.

NEW AM - I think we really need another top class winger/forward with pace that can play across the front and score goals so I'd make this position a priority. My targets would be Alexis Sanchez, Aubameyang and Ousmane Dembele.

I thinks that's about as much change as you can hope for in one window. Next summer I'd show the likes of Kompany, Yaya, Sagna, Clichy, Delph and possibly Silva the door if he doesn't find form again.

17/18 season move Denayer to CB, bring in two proper full backs (or promote from within, at least one of Maffeo or Angelino may be ready by then) and 1 or 2 midfielders (Byrne, M.Garcia, A.Garcia, Brahim if any of them are ready).

Out - Caballero, Zabaleta, Mangala, Kolarov, Fernando, Delph, Navas, Bony.

In - New GK, Stones, Laporte, New LB, Gundogan, Isco, Sane, New AM.

Proabably set us back over £150m net.

You have to consider we will be shifting out a lot for nothing. We will turnover 8 or 9 players and get aroundd half their value,just to get them off the hooks. We will spend big to over compensate. 50 million extra for aubameyang aint a bad deal...
 
Any team with Pogba is great. Without him, we'd need to bring in serious talent to make up the difference.

the case for the defense
over the last 3 years city have spent close on 100 million on our defense none have been the answer. because they were all bought for their knowledge of the high back line Spanish defense. quite frankly we would have been better giving 50 mill to the church and praying for better weather and the other 50 mill to the refs and praying for better decisions so hears my way of getting reliability back into the squad

^^Some of these line-ups are bonkers, really. I've changed mine since last time. Maybe I'll do it several more times as the window continues.




This is somewhat realistic with respect to the players we've been linked with so far. I am sure Pep would introduce some youth in it.
I personally would like to see maybe someone like Kroos or Saul Niguez in it instead of Wheelchair.
