Suppose he chose stoke so he could stay in manchester and was likely (in theory) to play a fair bit. It's his job to make sure Hughes picks him by doing it in training. One of the criticisms of him over the years we had him was that he wasn't that hard working. Just a theory.

Stoke fan here. If you are ever in the position this season to regret loaning him out because you need him then you must be in a bad way. Guidetti makes Charlie Adam look like Karen Carpenter. He is not in shape to play in the Premier League and that's why he has seen very little playing time since we loaned him from you. Maybe we will get him fit just in time to send him back to you.

I'd just like him to go to a club where he will play. Its what he needs, and obviously Stoke/Les arent the right club/manager for him to do that.

Awful transfer from us. Send him somewhere where he is far from guaranteed playing time, even Championship football could have been great for him to build confidence and fitness and score some good goals. Thats lot better than play 10 minutes every third match in the PL.

Btw it hardly matters as if we sell Dzeko in the summer I dont think Guidetti would have chance to fill the 4th striker role even if he would be scoring a lot at Stoke. We would go after a proven goalscorer easily in the market.

And if we dont sell Dzeko or any other striker, next year again has be a loan season for Guidetti. Or just sell him.
